- This article is about the heart-shaped item that increases Kirby's maximum health bar in certain games. For the amount of damage Kirby and others can sustain that is sometimes called "vitality", see Health.
Vitality is an item that can be acquired in some Kirby games which permanently increases Kirby's maximum health when collected. It is typically hidden in a Treasure Chest found in a hard-to-reach place and may come in pieces, requiring Kirby to reassemble them before gaining the health boost.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[edit]
Vitalities first appeared in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. There are four of them in total, and finding each one increases Kirby's health by one bar until it reaches a maximum of 10. Finding all of these hearts is a requirement for 100% completion.
Vitalities can be found in the following rooms:
Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]
- Main article: Medal Swap
Instead of being found in chests in the main levels of Kirby: Canvas Curse, the player can purchase Life Boosts from the Medal Swap. Each of these costs a different number of Medals to unlock, and there are three in total which can be purchased. These boosts only affect Kirby, and do not increase the maximum health of the other characters.
In addition, Paint Roller can paint a Vitality during the Paint Panic Boss Game.
Kirby: Squeak Squad[edit]
In Kirby: Squeak Squad, Vitalities return, and there are once again four to collect. This time, however, they are split into eight halves which must be found separately in large treasure chests in various stages. Whenever Kirby finds two halves of a Vitality (no specific pieces are needed), he can put them together to increase his maximum health.
Vitality pieces can be found in the following stages:
- Prism Plains - Secret
- Nature Notch - Secret
- Cushy Cloud - Secret
- Jam Jungle - Stage 3
- Vocal Volcano - Stage 3
- Ice Island - Stage 3
- Secret Sea - Secret
- Gamble Galaxy - Stage 3
