Inhaling it awards Kirby 50 points, whereas destroying it in any other way results in 100 points being added to the score. This makes Icicles worth the least amount of points in the game. They are also used as an attack by [[Ice Dragon]].

Icicles[from internal data] are hazardous objects first appearing in Kirby's Dream Land 2. They resemble spikes made of ice that hang from ceilings, pointing downwards.

When Kirby passes under an Icicle, it shakes and falls down, harming him if he touches it. Should it hit the ground, the icicle will typically either shatter immediately or bounce once first, though it can also be destroyed by hitting it with an attack or inhaling it. Swallowing it does not grant Kirby a Copy Ability in any of the icicle's appearances.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Icicles make their debut appearance in Kirby's Dream Land 2. Here, they are first encountered in Iceberg, the fourth of the Rainbow Islands, but can also be found in the cold regions of later levels. Inhaling it awards Kirby 50 points, whereas destroying it in any other way results in 100 points being added to the score. This makes Icicles worth the least amount of points in the game. They are also used as an attack by Ice Dragon.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

In Kirby's Dream Land 3, Icicles return, appearing in the frosty stages of the fifth level, Iceberg. They act identically to their previous incarnation, but are only half as big while hanging on a ceiling, making them harder to spot before they plummet. This does not prevent Kirby from destroying or inhaling them, however.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

Icicles can be found hanging from ceilings in the Cold Course stage of Kirby: Canvas Curse, and continually fall and regrow in the same position. They can be blocked using Rainbow Lines or another form of cover.

Kirby: Squeak Squad

Icicles make a brief appearance here in the Ice Island stages. They are somewhat longer and bluer than in previous titles, but serve the same purpose as before.

Kirby Mass Attack

Icicles appear in only two areas in the game; those being Stage 8 and Stage 9 of Dedede Resort. Because the Kirbys cannot inhale in this game nor attack in the usual way, Icicles pose a much greater threat in this title than in others. The best strategy if the Kirbys cannot destroy them is to either run past quickly or inch close enough to trigger them and run back.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe

Icicles return, appearing in 3D for the first time. They are exclusively found in White Wafers, in sections of the level that are caves. They are often positioned above icy floor, which poses an extra challenge. Goriath also has the ability to summon larger icicles during his boss fight.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Icicles appear in the Metro on Ice and Forgo Horns stages and the Kirby, the Master of Mouthfuls! Treasure Road stage in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. They appear much bigger in this title, but function a similar purpose to the icicles from Kirby Mass Attack. Some icicles fall on a continuous cycle, while others will not fall until Kirby gets close.
