Hornhead is a giant rhinoceros beetle-like Mid-Boss with an indigo carapace, four legs with cup-like feet that are larger on the hind legs, and a massive triceratops-like horn for a face with two brown eyes inset. Like an actual beetle, he has wings and can fly, but he tends to stay on the ground most of the time, where he will attempt to ram Kirby or grab him with his horn. Hornhead grants the Beetle Copy Ability when ingested.

Hornhead returns after a five-year absence from the series to serve as the first encounter in the game, where he is fought in the Seaside. For this appearance, Hornhead has been made larger, and given a larger variety of attacks (though he only uses these in subsequent encounters). Hornhead is faced in a total of seven different quests, among them also appearing as part of Team Tough Stuff and Team Triple Threat.

Attacks

The following are all of Hornhead's attacks in Super Kirby Clash. Note that attack names are conjectural:

Horn Beam Hornhead throws out crescent-shaped beams from his horn which travel in a straight path. The number of beams thrown out can vary. Hornhead may also do this while flying.
Hardhead Slam From the air, Hornhead stalls for a moment as he orients downward, then falls quickly to the ground.

Cameo appearances

In Kirby Battle Royale one of the Rare Outfits for Beetle Kirby is based on Hornhead, costing 750 Battle Coins. It returns in Kirby Fighters 2, where it is unlocked at a Fighters Rank of 69.
