Boss Battle (theme from Kirby Super Star): Difference between revisions

The song plays in most boss battles in ''{{KSS KFP}}''. The only bosses not to use this theme are [[King Dedede]], [[Meta Knight]], [[Galactic Nova Nucleus|Heart of Nova]] and [[Marx]], who each have their own unique battle themes. Meanwhile, [[Computer Virus]] has its own unique version of the boss battle theme, a chiptune-like arrangement of it. This theme also plays when battling the [[Mid-Boss]]es at the end of [[Candy Mountain]] in [[Dyna Blade (main game)|Dyna Blade]]. In [[The Arena]], all boss battles with this theme instead play "[[Arena Showdown]]" (except for Computer Virus). In the [[Jukebox/Kirby Super Star|Sound Test]] the normal version can be found as the ''Music'' number 08, while the Computer Virus version is listed as the number 38.

In ''Kirby Super Star Ultra'', the same bosses use the boss theme like in the original, with the exception of [[Dyna Blade]], [[Wham Bam Rock]] and [[Heavy Lobster]] who get their own unique battle themes instead. The new revenge bosses use the regular boss theme as well. The normal and chiptune versions can be found in the Sound Test under the numbers 009 and 043 respectively in the ''Music'' section.

 

Additionally, the normal version is included in the ''[[Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track]]'' as the track number 5, where it is titled '''ボスとの戦い''' (''Battle with the Boss''). This is based on the ''Super Star Ultra'' arrangement of the theme, but with an applied reverb like the rest of the album.

This theme is one of the many boss themes incorporated into the '''"Boss Theme Medley"''' of ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''. The medley is one of the default tracks of the [[smashwiki:Halberd|Halberd]] stage, and is arranged by Kentaro Ishizaka.

A remix of this theme plays when facing Waddle Dee in the [[Scope Shot]] [[Sub-Game]]. This version is named '''VS. ワドタンク''' (''VS. Waddle Tank'') in ''[[Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack]]'', is arranged by [[Hirokazu Ando]],<ref>''[[Kirby: Triple Deluxe]]'' [[Jukebox]]</ref> and can be listened to as the ''Music'' number 89 in the [[Jukebox/Kirby's Return to Dream Land|Sound Test]].

In ''Triple Deluxe'' this theme makes three appearances. Once again, the "VS. Waddle Tank" version from ''{{KRtDL KAW}}'' returns, serving as the mid-boss theme of the game's extra stages.

A short remix of this theme serves as the title screen theme for the [[Kirby Fighters]] sub-game. It is arranged by the original composer, Jun Ishikawa, and it is fittingly titled '''Kirby Fighters ''' in the ''[[Kirby: Triple Deluxe Soundtrack]]'', where it can be found as the track number 25. Meanwhile, the original version of this theme is the default track for the [[Bubbly Clouds (Battle Stage)|Bubbly Clouds]] [[Battle Stage]].

 

The [[Jukebox/Kirby: Triple Deluxe|Jukebox]] includes the "Kirby Fighters" version as the track 042, the original version as the track 046, and the "VS. Waddle Tank" version as the track 068.

Much like the original Kirby Fighters sub-game, the original version of this theme is used for the Bubbly Clouds Battle Stage. In addition, the "Kirby Fighters" version plays when battling [[Kracko]] in Round 5 of Single Player Mode.

A remix of this theme can be unlocked by collecting one of the [[Treasure Chest]]s found in the [[Kirby Submarine's Torpedo Time]] stage, to then be played in the game's [[Jukebox/Kirby and the Rainbow Curse|Music Room]] as the track number 14, where it is titled '''Boss Battle'''.

A short remix of this theme serves as the title screen theme for the [[Team Kirby Clash]] sub-game. It is once again arranged by Jun Ishikawa in a slow, orchestral manner, similar to the anime version. It can be played by selecting the track 068 on the [[Jukebox/Kirby: Planet Robobot|Jubebox]], and it appears in the ''[[Kirby: Planet Robobot Original Soundtrack]]'' as the track 43 of the first disc, under the ideal name '''Team Kirby Clash'''.

A remix of this theme, similar to the "Team Kirby Clash" one and mixed with the main theme of this game, plays in the Wireless Quest menu and the cut-scenes preceding all Ordeals (except for The Final Battle).

The "VS. Waddle Tank" version from ''{{KRtDL KAW}}'' is reused as one of the mid-boss themes in [[The Ultimate Choice]]. It is found in the [[Jukebox/Kirby Star Allies|Jukebox]] as the track 199, and in ''Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack'' as the track 2 of the fifth disc.

Like in the previous ''Kirby Fighters'' games, the original version of this theme is the default track for the Bubbly Clouds stage. A new remix of it can be unlocked as the stage's Secret Song, after reaching [[Fighters Rank]] 44.

After beating [[Story Mode: The Destined Rivals]], a new menu theme becomes available for the game; said theme is a medley, with the first song being the "Kirby Fighters" version of the original Kirby Fighters sub-game. This theme is arranged in a traditional Japanese instrumentation like the rest of the Secret Songs in the game, and it also is the Secret Song of the [[Stage of the Partners]].

An orchestral remix of this theme plays in certain episodes of the ''[[Kirby: Right Back at Ya!|Hoshi no Kābī]]'' anime. This version has a slow, march-like composition, and was later included in the ''[[Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Sound Plus]]'' album, where it was named '''入場行進''' (''Entrance Procession'').
