Kirby and [[Waddle Dee (novel character)|Waddle Dee]] face him and [[Whip]] Kirby during a match of [[Ore Express]] at [[Dedede's Cake Royale]]. Waddle Dee takes advantage of Hammer Kirby's slow movement by repeatedly tossing the ore out of his reach and making him dizzy. After Kirby and Waddle Dee make a comeback, Hammer Kirby jumps on the train which carry him to the distance, leaving Kirby and Waddle Dee to wonder why he did that. Later, the Hammer ability shows up again in the novel, which Kirby gains by inhaling [[Bonkers]]. Kirby uses it to try and destroy the Kirby Printer, but seemingly to no avail.
