Phan Phan is a Mid-Boss that debuted in Nightmare in Dream Land, where it replaced Rolling Turtle from the original Kirby's Adventure, and has appeared in various other games of the Kirby series since. Its appearance is similar to that of an elephant, except that it has only two legs and a spherical body. It has large, black eyes, and three strans of hair, similar to the two strands of hair on Waddle Doo.
Phan Phan often attacks by rolling at Kirby, lifting him and throwing him with his ears, and stomping on him. Often times, when Phan Phan misses, stars appear, which can be inhaled and spat out at Phan Phan to deal damage. Depending on the game, it yields either the Throw or the Suplex Copy Ability when Kirby inhales and swallows it after defeating it.
Trivia
- The name "Phan Phan" is derived from the word elephant.
