Moto Shotzo[Japanese title] is an enemy appearing in Kirby Super Star and its remake. It possesses a spherical body with a white upper half that has a cannon attached to it, while four dark, round spheres are affixed to its orange bottom half for support.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]
Moto Shotzo debuted in Kirby Super Star and later appeared in its remake. Although its name contains Shotzo, the enemy does not resemble a traditional Shotzo much in behavior apart from its ability to fire cannonballs, primarily due to being mobile and destructible. Inhaling and swallowing a Moto Shotzo does not grant Kirby any Copy Ability. It is a somewhat rare enemy, only appearing in two stages of the game (with an extra appearance in Kirby Super Star Ultra).

Kirby Mass Attack[edit]
In the Kirby Mass Attack Sub-Game Kirby Quest, a Kirby rides a Moto Shotzo in one of the Awesome Attacks while guiding a mechanical dragon with boxing gloves. This is in reference to Trax, the game from which Moto Shotzo's design derives; the mechanical dragon is the Stage 1 boss in that game.
Kirby Battle Royale[edit]
After a long absence, Moto Shotzos reappear in Kirby Battle Royale. Here, they appear in the Rocket Rumble battle, shooting fuel for the players. They can shoot two types of fuel, the green cubes that are worth one point and the yellow-orange cubes that are worth five points.
Trivia[edit]
- Moto Shotzo's design is a reference to the playable tank from Trax (known in Japanese as 突撃!ポンコツタンク (Totsugeki! Ponkotsu Tanku), roughly "Charge! Junk Tank"), an early 1991 Game Boy game developed by HAL Laboratory before they worked on the Kirby series.
- Moto Shotzo is one of the few enemies in Kirby Super Star Ultra whose appearance (in-game sprite) is exactly the same as it was in Kirby Super Star.
