Ripple Field: Ocean Waves

Ripple Field: Ocean Waves is a stage theme from Kirby's Dream Land 3 that was composed by Jun Ishikawa. This theme can be heard in Stage 1, 4, and 6 of Ripple Field and in Stage 3 of Cloudy Park.
Composition
Ripple Field: Ocean Waves is a moderately fast theme that is in the key of C major. It starts with a short drumbeat, then plays the first portion of the main melody, which appears to use the "call and response" technique. The "call" portion is played with a flute-like instrument, while the "response" is played with a synth. It does this call and response twice, and then moves on to the second portion of the theme. The second portion is played with a trumpet-sounding instrument, while it goes into a minor key for a short time. The instrument then changes into that of a synth-sounding one, and plays a high pitched melody (the theme is in a major key at this point). After the synth finishes its part, the bass of the song goes up three whole steps (Ab, Bb, then C), and the song then loops.
This theme has similarities to Float Islands, Sea Stage, and the theme of Aqua Star.
Other appearances
This theme can be heard in the Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack, where it got its English name. It was present in the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert, and was in the Kirby's Dream Land 3/Kirby 64 medley. It is the first theme to play. Ripple Field was also in The Sound of Kirby Café, featuring in a track with Cloudy Park.
