"Heading for 02" is a fast-paced and serious theme in the key of E-flat minor which has heavy percussion. The theme starts with an instrumental sting and then gets to the main melody (the percussion is added in as well). The first quarter of the theme's melody is played by a recorder-like instrument. This melody starts from a G note and then goes to an F#/Gb but then ascends to said note from a D-flat note. A similar progression is played once again starting from a different note (D sharp) before doing a Gb-Gb-E-B progression (followed by 4 quieter notes first played by a synth and then a chime-like instrument). This portion is repeated once again before moving to the second portion, which is played by a different instrument. The second portion has an ascending melody that is slower than the melody in the first portion and is played from various notes. This is usually followed by a response quieter than the melody (played by the same recorder-like instrument from before). It should also be  latter half of the second portion changes instruments as well. The third portion and fourth portions of the theme are largely similar to the first and second ones, but with slight differences(the melody of the third portion is played by the same synth instrument from before, and the fourth portion has a different "response" instrument and a different ending). After the fourth portion ends, the 46 second theme then loops.
