"Swallowed Exit" is a stage theme from Kirby Mass Attack that plays during the Gondolus section of Sandy Canyon - Stage 4. It was composed by Shogo Sakai.

CompositionEdit

Gondolus carries the Kirbys, having swallowed their exit.

"Swallowed Exit" is an energetic theme in harmonic A minor and 4/4. Its intro features a dominant trill and rapid descending passage, both in the likes of the intro of "The Skull Gang". Backed by a timpani and rising trumpet arpeggios similar to those of "Woods Wayfarer", the melody accentuates the elevated leading tone of harmonic minor with a combined of strings and sitar. The melody is repeated by a flute and high violins with a xylophone reprising the intro's descending passage and backing trumpet chords. The string and sitar combination returns in the second section, which bears similarities with the second section of "Air Ride: Magma Flows". It moves from E minor back to A minor; however, the section is full of modulating major harmonies. The A minor segment is lighter due to a decrease in percussion, and the groups of strings split up, with the melody relegated to the sitar and a slowly descending counterpoint played by the strings. They reach G-sharp major together, and the music immediately bursts from dominant back to the intro. The track loops from here.
