A Trashy Tale: Difference between revisions

This episode marks the first time that [[Buttercup]] has been a leading character in a story, and also marks the final appearance of the [[Cleaning]] [[Copy Ability]] in the anime series.

The episode begins at [[Castle Dedede]], where [[Escargoon]] is complaining to [[King Dedede (anime character)|King Dedede]] about the massive mess of discarded food he is making in the throne room while watching television. After being dismissed by the King, Escargoon takes matters into his own hands and orders the [[Waddle Dee (anime character)|Waddle Dees]] to clean things up despite Dedede's protests. After everything has been collected in trash bags, King Dedede and Escargoon ponder where to dump it, and eventually decide to have it sent through the [[Night Mare Enterprises Teleporter]], burying the [[N.M.E. Sales Guy]] in the refuse. He contacts King Dedede to ask for the meaning of this dump, and King Dedede mocks him further by insisting that he will not order any more [[monster]]s unless [[Night Mare Enterprises]] accepts their trash. Meanwhile, [[Tuff]] is play-fighting with [[Kirby (anime character)|Kirby]] in his room when [[Lady Like]] comes in and comments on how much of a mess it is. Instead of cleaning it, Tuff runs away with Kirby to avoid the responsibility and heads out to play with the [[Cappy (anime)|Cappy kids]]. While playing a ball game, Tuff accidentally launches the ball through [[Doctor Yabui]]'s window and ruins an article he was preparing. Tuff and the others initially feel remorse about this, but then see how messy Doctor Yabui's room is.

Later on, Tiff and the kids inexplicably kick their ball through other villagers' windows and see how much of a mess their respective rooms are. After eavesdropping on [[Melman]], they then watch him take a letter for [[Buttercup]], and they all comment on how nice she is. Later on, the kids continue their ball game and Tuff accidentally kicks Kirby again, launching him through a window into [[Chief Bookem]]'s house. Seeing that nobody is home, Tuff tries to open the door to get Kirby when [[Tiff]] shows up and asks what he is doing. After explaining the situation to her, Tuff decides to enter through the broken window. Instead of Kirby, however, he finds a massive horde of junk inside the house, and all those assembled are horrified at the sight. Still struggling to believe that the Bookems would hoard junk like this, Tuff reminds everyone of how neat and tidy they were when treating King Dedede in the episode [[The Meal Moocher]], but Tiff explains that nobody saw the inside of their house during that night. After locating and recovering Kirby, the kids are then forced to hide in the junk piles as Buttercup returns home. The kids watch as Buttercup prepares dinner and [[Chief Bookem]] returns home. As the two sit down to eat, Kirby fails to contain himself and rushes to the table as well, blowing the kids' cover.

*In the Japanese version, an arrangement of the [[Candy Mountain]] theme plays when the Waddle Dees are cleaning up the throne room.

*In the Japanese version, a minor-key arrangement of the [[Invincible Candy]] jingle plays when the Cappies are checking out [[Buttercup|Sato]]'s home.

*In the Japanese version, Sato does not hum while she is walking about in her home.

*In the Japanese version, King Dedede and [[Escargoon|Doctor Escargon]] explain that they lost a pair of sunglasses, rather than swimming trunks.

*In the Japanese version, when Chef Kawasaki is reacting to Sato's hoarding, Gengu and Gus comment that the only reason his place is not the same is because Kirby eats all his leftovers.

*In the Japanese version, King Dedede and Escargon's comments on Sato are much harsher, claiming her to be a "nasty woman" and "less than human".

*In the Japanese version, Cleaning Kirby shouts "CLEAN!" when disposing of [[Trash Basher|Duston]].
