Next to [[Master]], Smash is the second most versatile ability in this game. Smash Kirby can cut [[rope]]s, pound [[stake]]s and destroy [[Block#Metal Block|metal blocks]].

Kirby gains another new move in addition to all his previous ones; [[Air Drop]], which comes from [[Ninja]] Kirby's moveset and acts as Kirby's up throw in the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series. Additionally, Hammer Flip has been reworked to match its chargeable iteration from ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U]]''. Smash Kick is also chargeable, again to reflect its use in the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series. Finally, the Guard in this version of the ability resembles the bubble shields used by most of the characters in the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series, though in this case, it can't break.
