This has been shown as early as ''Kirby's Adventure'', where Kirby defeated Nightmare with the Star Rod, and after being shot towards his Power Orb with the help of Kirby Dedede. Another example is in ''Kirby: Planet Robobot'', where Kirby defeated Star Dream with both the help of Meta Knight, and the Robobot Armor (which was provided by Susie).

This goes as far back as ''Kirby's Adventure'', where Kirby defeated Nightmare with the help of King Dedede and the Star Rod, and can be seen in other titles such as ''[[Kirby: Planet Robobot]]'' (where Kirby requires the assistance of the Robobot Armor provided by Susie and the Halberd piloted by Meta Knight to be able to defeat Star Dream) and ''[[Kirby Star Allies]]'' (where Kirby requires the spears of the heart summoning the Star Allies Sparkler, and all of his friends helping him out, to be able to defeat Void Termina). While Kirby has defeated some threats without help from his friends (such as Dark Matter in ''[[Kirby's Dream Land 2]]'') or without the assistance of special abilities (such as Marx in ''[[Kirby Super Star]]''), it would be incorrect to say that he is always able to do without assistance.
