Glom is an invulnerable amphibian-like hazard that only appears in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Glom is named and represented in Enemy Info Card #22.

Characteristics[edit]

Glom initially looks like a frog, sporting a green face, a white chin, and a red inner-mouth. It has large white eyes, which blink noticeably when it hides in its hole. When reaching out to gobble up Kirby, it uses its two, green webbed hands with three fingers on each to grab onto the outer sides of the hole to prevent itself from falling out. Due to it shrouding itself in a hole with only its blinking white eyes in view, it is usually never exposed to light. The hole as well as Glom is part of the background, and will only be in the same plane as Kirby when lunging out to attack him.

Despite front-facing appearances, the true credits sequence of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards reveals that Glom is much longer than it appears in-game, resembling a long salamander rather than a frog.

Attacks[edit]

First appearing in Aqua Star's first stage inside a cave, Kirby must dodge four Gloms in succession to move on. If Kirby wanders too close to a hole, a Glom exposes its head from it and tries to eat Kirby, if successful, it chews for a moment and then spits him out, at which point Kirby takes damage. Regardless of any attack, Glom cannot be defeated, as any attack will be absorbed and vanish.

Locations[edit]

Glom can be found in the following levels and stages:
