"City Trial: What's in the Box?" is the name of a musical piece which plays solely in Kirby Air Ride - in City Trial during the 'Same Items' event. While this music is playing, all boxes (aside from those which contain Dragoon or Hydra parts) will spin and hold the same type of item, chosen at random once the event begins. The track can be unlocked in the Sound Test by accomplishing the following Checklist item: "Stadium: KIRBY MELEE 2 In one game, KO enemies over 30 times!"

This theme was also featured in certain episodes of the Japanese version of Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, in which it was titled デデデが通る (Dedede Passes By). This version has an ending portion rather than simply fading out.
