Water actually first appeared as a Copy Ability in the anime series. It bore a somewhat different design to its later appearance in the games, but still had the essential function of Kirby using water to attack, including shooting a geyser from the top of his head. This design was intended to appear in the [[Kirby (Nintendo GameCube)|cancelled GameCube game]] which later evolved into ''[[Kirby's Return to Dream Land]]''.
