The Grass Land theme is fairly short, with an eight second introductory sequence and a 22 second main portion which loops on itself thereafter. It runs at approximately 128 beats per minute in a 4/4 time signature, and is generated within the game itself using the Game Boy's programmable sound generator. One notable aspect of the song is that the second verse of the main portion is only half the length of the first.
Grass Land's theme is a short, chipper tune, with just under 8 seconds of intro transitioning into the loop with a descending passage, setting the mood in 128 beats per minute in 4/4 time. Like almost all ''Kirby'' themes prior to the late 2000s, the theme is a MIDI composition and is essentially played live by the Game Boy's sound generator. In the 22 second loop, two main sections are heard: the first is twice the length of the other, played in 8 measures as opposed to the latter's 4. While the first section is played mostly legato with brief rests between phrases of the melody, the second section is played in a more staccato sense.
