This article is about the boss battle theme from Kirby Dream Land 3, and should not be confused with other similarly named boss battle themes.

"Boss Battle"[conjectural title] refers to the main boss battle theme of Kirby's Dream Land 3 that plays at the end of the game's first four regular levels when fighting a boss. Like every other theme in said game, it was composed by Jun Ishikawa.

Composition

Unlike an average tree, Whispy Woods gives chase to Kirby.

The composition of this 24-second-long theme is vastly similar to other distinct boss themes like "Mid-Boss Battle" from Kirby's Adventure, "Boss" from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and "Boss Battle" from Kirby: Squeak Squad. The melody of the theme mainly features trumpets and pan pipes playing quick successives notes in ascending minor triads, contrast to its second half where said instruments concoct a rapid, descending note progression, culminating in a string section playing a slow E minor 7th with a flanger effect.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land 3

In its debut appearance, the theme plays during the final stages of the first four levels, being the boss battles against Whispy Woods, Acro, Pon & Con, and Ado.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

In Kirby: Planet Robobot, the original version of the theme plays in Stages 1-4 and 2-4 of Kirby 3D Rumble.
