Hypernova enables Kirby to inhale large objects he otherwise couldn't, but the key difference it has from Kirby's normal moveset is Inhale and Move, which allows Kirby to use his inhale while walking forward or backward (an ability he normally does not have in this game). This move allows him to pull on large objects via suction, allowing him to solve puzzles that require objects to be moved around. Walking backwards while inhaling is also necessary to activate certain [[device]]s such as the ball and chain in [[Fine Fields - Stage 1]], or defeat certain enemies, such as the [[Land Barbar]].

The Hypernova Inhale can also be used to power certain devices, such as the fan-operated drills in [[Endless Explosions - Stage 4]]. Hypernova Kirby cannot jump while using Inhale and Move, nor can he turn around. Additionally, when attempting to inhale something, the object in question needs to be more-or-less on the same elevation as Kirby, or it will not be affected.
