:As I have pointed out, there is a discussion about that on the talk page. Feel free to provide an ''official''(!!) source there that refers to the game by that name (the Nintendo site still linked in the article itself calls it "Kirby™ Wii", for your information) there and an agreement on moving or not moving may be reached; no trustable source has been provided at this point and the current situation is not in favour of a move. '''''Please stop moving the article or otherwise pasting it somewhere else unless this has been agreed on'''''. If you don't voluntarily stop, I may have to temporarily block you from editing. Sorry about embedding an illegal video, won't happen again. Out of curiosity and for my own personal gain as an editor, I looked over all possibly relevant sections of Wikirby's help and found nothing against illegal videos or linking to them. While I agree this should be a defined rule, we should add it to <nowiki>"help"</nowiki> so other users don't make the same mistake. I did find a Help:Youtube on Mario Wiki, which could be used as a reference for this but Wikirby will obviously have different standards. -[[User:TripleD|Triple D is awesome]] 12:23, 25 August 2011 (CDT)

:That's odd, I could have sworn we had stated this somewhere, but I can't find anything clear either :\ '''WiKirby:User Accounts''' does state linking to questionable content as a potential banning reason, though, which I presume anything illegal would fall under; should perhaps make that more obvious. The thing to realise here is that it's not WiKirby-specific, though, it's downright illegal (to my knowledge), so it should not be necessary to explicitly mention it here, as WiKirby is not exempt from the law; then again, it certainly won't ''hurt'' to mention it, necessary or not, so I'll look into that some time.--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] 13:37, 25 August 2011 (CDT)

Gamefreak (one of the older admins) loaded up high-res jpegs and and asked me to clean them up, and I spent several hours doing so via filters and background removal tools personally (using Corel Paint Shop Pro X3). Several of those pictures I uploaded myself separately and they are not found anywhere else on the internet - the transparent Lor Starcutter pic or the group character picture straight from the PAL / Japan box art front for example - I had to decompile Nintendo's original Flash files using a specific decompiler tool (Trillix) and recompose them. These processes modify the images in a specific way - removal of artifacts modify individual pixels depending on specific filter settings, and pixel-perfect recomposition of the images from separate Flash "sprite" data using Trillix means sometimes the final image attains a faint grey edge, and the images are extracted at Nintendo's original resolution. I checked the images for duplicity by sampling pixels and they have 100% matching, so there's no doubt about the primary image source.

With all due respect, I'm not asking for the images to removed unless that's how things are run - since none of us own those images and Nintendo holds the copyright, but according to Wikirby's '''inter-wiki policy''' I think [[User:Yarnkirby|Yarnkirby]] should have attributed the source of the image to the wiki at least when he/she uploaded them. I'm aware of the possibility that some third-party site might have taken the images as-is from Wikia, and Yarnkirby might have taken the pictures from there, so I really don't know.

On the flipside, if you happen to discover any pictures or any content for that matter on Wikia taken straight from Wikirby, please do tell me and I'll confirm the source with the editor and remove it if it's ripped straight from another wiki or Kirbypedia / KRR.

:::Alright, I've notified the uploader and started attributing the images. If nobody is requesting their deletion, I currently don't see a reason to delete them, though it would certainly be nicer to display what is actually our own work here (we don't currently have an "admin team", btw, I'm really the only one :p). What I'm wondering about, though, is whether [[:File:KRtDL Kirby Dash Artwork.png|File:PuffballRtDL.png]] was also stolen, as it wasn't uploaded by Yarnkirby and we do have at least one other transparent image in the gallery evidently not from the Wikia (namely [[:File:Kirby KRtDL.png]]). The PuffballRtDL image does resemble yours, but it appears to be a different file size (unless the displayed size on either wiki is off), so I'm not sure.--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] 13:34, 26 October 2011 (CDT)

::::Those two you mentioned are good; there aren't any duplicates on Wikia of current / previous uploads that I'm aware of. It's curious that KirbyKRtDL.png shares the same 3k by 3k resolution but I think it's purely coincidence. The one on Wikia is full-color depth and has less effective resolution than the version on Wikirby, which I think might be a png conversion from a 256-color gif file with dithering. They're definitely not the same files. [[User:Changtau2005|Changtau2005]] 20:02, 26 October 2011 (CDT)

::Ah, thanks for reminding me of the images. Didn't have much time lately, but I'll delete them now. I'll delete the Keeby one as well as it's fan art and, last time I checked, not marked as personal or used anywhere. (On an unrelated note, are you the same Sky as the Nookipedia lead editor? :Ok, I deleted what I could confirm was taken from wikia; unfortunately, I cannot find wikia equivalents of '''File:Magolors_soul.png''', '''File:Magolor_Boss2.jpg''', '''File:Landia.jpg''' and '''File:Magolor_Boss.jpg'''; while I have no doubt they were stolen from somewhere, I can't rightfully delete them without confirmation that they were. Can you block them and delete those nonsense pages they've made please? I'm currently trying to revert the mess they've made on the other pages.

:Looks fine to me. What was the problem? There seem to be two of the same image file, though ('''File:Cook Kirby Brawl.PNG''' and '''File:Cook Kirby.PNG'''). Since both of them are unused right now, which one would you rather like to remain on the wiki (so I can delete the other)? They are identical.--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 21:09, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

::Hmm...the file Cook_Kirby_Brawl.PNG will have to stay since it's a screenshot from ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl''. --[[User:Kirbylover100|Kirbylover100]] ([[User talk:Kirbylover100|talk]]) 09:24, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

There's a new monobook skin on the wiki that I designed you're interested in checking it. Personally I'd prefer it as the default skin (WiKirby Classic being a secondary via Special:Preferences). Do you like the skin? [[User:Results May Vary|Results May Vary]] ([[User talk:Results May Vary|talk]]) 13:54, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

::The skin has been installed in place of Monobook. You can activate it by going to your preferences. Let us know what you think. --[[User:Fubaka|Fubaka]] ([[User talk:Fubaka|talk]]) 03:03, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

::::Oh, I don't think I got an email about the message from May. It looks really cool! The "Go" and "Search" buttons should turn the cursor into a finger though like on the classic skin. They're not giving any visual feedback that they're clickable right now.---[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 18:26, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

== Inactive notice ==
Greetings, Velli. I don't know if you will receive this message, but I feel obligated to send it out anyway. Given that your last action on the wiki was on the 4th of June, I suspect you are well and truly done with WiKirby. As such, it is my intention to move you formally into the inactive staff category. Keep in mind that at any time, even after this change is enacted, you will be allowed to return to your rank(s) as they are defined at the time of this writing if you wish it so. If I receive no word back from you on this page, you will be moved to former staff on January 1st, 2020.
I suspect that, based on how things have gone, this will be my last message to you. I don't know why you chose to leave, but I hope you are doing well. I have WiKirby well in hand at this point, and it is my intention to continue to watch over it, and help guide it on its continued growth and success. Based on the current level of activity, we should be well on our way to filling in the remaining gaps in the wiki's knowledge base by the end of next year, and a 4000 article milestone should not be unreasonable to meet by then as well. To be honest with you, I had always wanted to become something akin to the Editor-in-Chief here, but I had hoped it would have been with your assent, rather than your absence.
At any rate, I have spoken for long enough. To reiterate, I will move you to inactive staff on January 1st, 2020 unless you want to return to WiKirby, or you wish me to move you sooner. I will keep watch for a response until then. Best wishes. --[[User:Fubaka|Fubaka]] ([[User talk:Fubaka|talk]]) 14:43, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
:Hi, I never left, I just assume everything is fine if I'm not getting notifications from my talk page. That said, I got no email from this message and I don't know what's up with that. Is there anything else I haven't addressed?--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 19:37, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
::Then I assume you're aware of every major thing that's happened on the wiki since we last spoke? Tacopill initially gave me the impression that we called for a new Editor-in-Chief election because he couldn't reach you. That said, I'm not surprised you didn't get an email notification for the last set of messages on your talk page, since the mechanism responsible for sending those has been broken for a while. Hopefully that is something we will have fixed next year.
::That said, even if you have been here this whole time, you haven't been active at all, and the rest of us had truly believed you were gone. As such, it still may be appropriate for you to move to former staff until such a time that you want to be involved with the wiki again. As I said, I have the wiki well-in-hand at this point, so it's not necessary for you to continue keeping watch if you don't want to. Let me know what you would like in that regard. --[[User:Fubaka|Fubaka]] ([[User talk:Fubaka|talk]]) 20:51, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
:::I believe the purpose of the activity status is to let people know who they can contact if they need staff assistance, and I'm still available for that. I don't know where the impression comes from that I can't be reached because I generally check everything that I get an email about, I just rely on people to bring things to my attention. If no one's involving me in anything, there's not much for me to do since the site has patrollers/mods/tech people who are able to take care of essential tasks without me and contributor who know more than I about recent games. Is there something people want me to do? I'm always on standby, but I'd need to know what people want of me to become involved.--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 00:10, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
::::Alright then. If you still believe you will be available, then I can return you to active status. It would put us all at ease if you dropped on by the wiki every now and then to comment on things though, just so we know you are still interested in the community. I don't know if you are still opposed to using Discord, but that is also available for you to join. We have over 100 people there, and a lot of wiki discussion happens there too. --[[User:Fubaka|Fubaka]] ([[User talk:Fubaka|talk]]) 01:12, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
== Regarding old file sources ==
Greetings, Vellidragon. I'm contacting you because right now we are reformatting all the file pages, and we are unsure if the sprites and screenshots uploaded by you, Moydow, and other prominent pre-2015 members were self-captures or taken from another source. We want to make sure that as many of our files as possible are properly sourced, so if you could impart us with some knowledge on these old files, that would be most helpful. Thanks in advance. --[[User:Samwell|Samwell]] ([[User talk:Samwell|talk]]) 18:50, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
:All my sprite and screenshot uploads are self-captured, if not stated otherwise (I don't actually think there are any that state otherwise, but it's been ages, so just in case).--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 22:07, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
== Regarding the old WiKirby favicon ==
Greetings. Just out of curiosity, do you happen to know who made the original WiKirby favicon ([[:File:Old WiKirby Favicon.png|this guy here]])? Mainly asking for historical purposes and to get it off the files lacking sources list. --[[User:Samwell|Samwell]] ([[User talk:Samwell|talk]]) 23:53, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
:Hi, I don't know, sorry! The favicon was already in place when I found out about WiKirby, along with the original skin (the blue one). Maybe whoever made that skin would know?--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 00:32, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
::Alright. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll probably go ask tacopill next, then. --[[User:Samwell|Samwell]] ([[User talk:Samwell|talk]]) 04:39, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
==About Skype==
Hello, Velli! We've been trying to find the creator of the old WiKirby logo so we have a source for the image, but we can't find much of anything. The only thing we can think of at this point is if this was mentioned in the old Skype chat logs you guys were in in the past, and from what we can tell, you're one of the only people around who still might have access to that--if the place even still exists, of course. Would you mind taking a look in there sometime if possible?<br>Oh and, if you don't have time to search around, I would be willing to do so if you gave me access to the place. -- {{User:MetaDragon/sig}} 05:11, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
:Hi, I don't know if I would be able to access the Skype room, but I'm pretty certain that chat history on Skype is only visible from the point that someone joins a room, so I wouldn't be able to see anything from before my time either way. Like I said, the icon was already in place when I found the site, so it wouldn't be in my logs. Sorry! :( --[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 05:28, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
::Yeah, I've been spending a lot of time trying to find the creator of the original WiKirby logo, and it's a bit embarrassing that we don't know who it was anymore. Everyone except you and tacopill are basically gone at this point. --[[User:Samwell|Samwell]] ([[User talk:Samwell|talk]]) 05:31, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
:::Thanks for replying nonetheless! May you have a good day. :) -- {{User:MetaDragon/sig}} 06:02, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
