"Corn Hall"[conjectural title] is a theme that first plays in the Gourmet Race main game from Kirby Super Star, specifically in the eponymous stage. It is much more obscure compared to its sister track, "Gourmet Race"; so far, not counting its Kirby Super Star Ultra version, it has only been properly remixed once in Kirby Fighters 2. English-speaking fans have often referred to this song with the conjectural title "Hilltop Chase".

Composition[edit]

Kirby and King Dedede rush into a cave-like section of Corn Hall.

"Corn Hall" is a theme that plays at 165 beats per minute and in the key of F minor. Similar to "Gourmet Race", it primarily focuses on a marching rhythm featuring brass instruments, with most of the main melody being played with a trumpet. It also has a final section based on "Peanut Plains", which is shared with "Gourmet Race", although it ends differently before the theme loops again.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

The theme plays in Kirby Super Star and its remake exclusively in Corn Hall, the second stage of Gourmet Race. It can be heard as Music 028 in the Sound Test, and Music 034 in the remake.

Kirby Fighters 2[edit]

In Kirby Fighters 2, a remixed version of "Corn Hall" serves as the secret theme for Gourmet Go Go and can be unlocked at Fighters Rank 56. This remix uses more techno-like instruments combined with horns for most of the song, in addition to having an extended intro section featuring a small new melody added to it.

Other appearances[edit]

The Kirby Super Star Ultra version is featured in the Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track album in the track "Gourmet Race", where it is paired with the original "Gourmet Race".
