Akira Miyagawa (宮川 彬良 Miyagawa Akira) is a Japanese composer and conductor known for his work in musical theater and television. He was born in Tokyo in 1961, and entered the industry composing for the Shiki Theater Company and Tokyo Disneyland while studying at the Tokyo University of the Arts. He is the son of Hiroshi Miyagawa, the composer of the classic anime Space Battleship Yamato, and has continued his father's work on the series. Akira Miyagawa composed the original Japanese score for the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime, including its first opening theme and both ending themes; he did not arrange any music from the games. Some of his work for Right Back at Ya! was reused in Kirby Air Ride and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
