WiKirby:Favicon referendum

The year draws to a close. Surely no more big changes can happen in these final days of 2020...right?

WRONG! It's time for another referendum to be called. This time, it is to decide on a new favicon for WiKirby!

Background

For those unfamiliar, a favicon is the icon that any given website uses to represent itself in tabs and favorites menus. While not quite as important as the site's main logo, it is a handy way to identify the site through opened tabs. For instance, the favicon of Wikipedia is its large black W, while YouTube's favicon is its iconic red play button.

Our current favicon is this:

It has its charms to be sure, but many have raised concerns that it may be a little too, how we may say, eccentric. While not usually noticeable at its usual rendering size in a tab, Kirby's face is a little crooked, and perhaps he could do with a little update, or maybe a new icon altogether?

The options

The WiKirby community has settled on three possible options for a new favicon. They are as follows:

The vote

As with other referendums, the voting will take place on the talk page. In order to vote, please list your choices in order of descending preference (eg. "Icon 1, Icon 2, Icon 3").

Options will be awarded points as follows:

  1. First choice - 3 points
  2. Second choice - 2 points
  3. Third choice - 1 point

Users will be allowed to change their votes at any time while the poll is open. Users may also choose less than three options, with unchosen options receiving no points.
Remember to sign your name on your vote, or it will not be counted!

The voting will end on the 10th of January, 2021 at 23:59:59 UTC, so if you care what the favicon looks like going forward, then hop to it! Remember to remain civil and objective in any discussions about the referendum, and may the best Kirby win! --Samwell (talk) 03:33, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
