  • I nominate YoshiFlutterJump for his responsible, consistent and active contributions to the wiki, good knowarounds with its editing and technicalities, open to discussions, bits of encouragement and happy to take on helping achieve a goal. I believe YFJ could make a great successor. —Viperision (talk) 16:15, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
  • Why vote for him? Why, he even blocked an IP that tried to help the wiki! Kirby Allies.png201 12:37, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
    • The IP refused to listen to staff members and persisted in making changes even after being blocked the first time ---PinkYoshiFan 14:19, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
      • Yeah, I don't think you get it. The IP was blocked for edit warring. He made unhelpful edits, they were reverted by the staff, but he kept making them, so he was blocked for it. He kept making them after his block expired, so I blocked him again. That was his second block for the exact same offense, and I wouldn't have blocked him if it was his first time. ...And please, don't just nominate yourself for EiC for something like that. You don't seem to understand how much responsibility the position takes. If you have an issue with something I do, just take it up with me on my talk page. --YFJ (talk · edits) 14:56, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

  • I nominate myself because I fix grammar, make a lot of edits, and I will be a great EIC. Vote for me! Kirby Allies.png201 12:22, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
There's several problems here:
  1. YoshiFlutterJump has no bad intention, and he is an active contributor. I've seen far less mainspace contributions from your end.
  2. The fact that you nominate yourself a day before the proposal ends (and opposing YoshiFlutterJump) makes me think that you're attempting to snipe the EiC position. With this position, you basically represent the wiki.
  3. This might be a personal issue that I have, but YoshiFlutterJump was nominated by another editor whereas you nominated yourself, which shows a lack of courtesy. Admittedly I did consider self-nomination, however that was only because I was worried that WiKirby would not have another candidate to fill in the role. I did not want the position as I have other wikis to take care of.
  4. The arguments "fix grammar, make a lot of edits, and I will be a great EIC" are not good enough. The reason Fubaka was unanimously supported in the previous election is because he worked very hard over the past 5 years to get the wiki where it is today. I don't know what we would have done without him. Nobody, not even I, have worked as hard as him, and that's why I thought "uh oh" when he announced that he was leaving. Trying to nominate yourself as EiC simply because you "fix grammar" is an insult our previous editor-in-chief, as he did far more than just that. He got red of most red links around the wiki.

I'm not sure if you can vote a candidate and oppose another, but you definitely do not have my support. Results May Vary (talk) 15:57, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

I'm guessing by your demeanor that you're likely a young teen, Kirby201? Not to sound dismissive or anything, but... it's a bit more complicated than you might think it is. A lot more complicated, actually. You'll have to essentially be running an entire website with an active userbase and the potential for vandals and trolls. YoshiFlutterJump has shown the capability to do so (one of the examples you pointed out is just that), but... while you clearly have passion, you're lacking in experience, judging from your edit history. RMV has already outlined the main points above, but I'd figure I'd add this on as a bit of a gentler nudge. You need some more time and experience, not just on the wiki but in the real world too. Take care of yourself. StrawberryChan (talk) 17:28, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
