YouTube screenshots[edit]

There are many screenshots from YouTube videos, so How come you say I can't upload one? -- IsaacBoi321 (talk) 02:55, 25 February 2023 (UTC)

We're trying to get rid of YouTube screenshots, not add more, as they tend to be very low quality. StarPunch (talk) 02:56, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
But I don't have the game; how am I supposed to take Screenshots or find images of them? - IsaacBoi321 (talk) 02:57, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
Furthermore, screenshots of other people's YouTube videos are not as likely to qualify for fair use as they introduce the need for permission/infringe upon the copyright of other people. There may be YouTube screenshots from on-site members as they have intentionally recorded content for the site and give permission to be used. If you do not have the game, then you should wait to upload until either you do or someone else can upload one on your behalf. We have Template:Image for this purpose. You can take a look at this page for more information on the image standards that WiKirby holds, but to summarize, capturing screenshots from YouTube videos almost always results in lower quality images than we would like. In the event that an image of appropriate quality can be captured, it's best to ask the uploader for permission before uploading it to WiKirby. Also, I would recommend working on pages in your sandbox before you create them. This way, others can offer feedback and add more relevant information where necessary. Just as a rule of thumb, WiKirby generally doesn't allow new stubs (i.e. articles under 1000 bytes of content). Hopefully this helps :) –Theo[1][2] 03:04, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
Okay, Thank you. I understand now not to upload youtube video images. Thanks for the feedback! :) -- IsaacBoi321 (talk) 03:06, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
Of course! Have fun :) –Theo[1][2] 03:08, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
