Ahoy![edit]

Greetings, MisterE13. I am Fubaka, the Editor-in-Chief here at WiKirby. I just wanted to let you know that I've seen your edit to Super Kirby Clash regarding the password table. Great job on that! It's rare to have a new user make such a big contribution like you just did. Keep up the good work! --Fubaka (talk) 19:50, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

Passwords[edit]

Just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work on Super Kirby Clash/passwords, I doubt we'd have it ever completed without you. Superbound (talk) 15:22, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

It's been a great project to work on! Hopefully I'm able to contribute a bit more in other places as well.--MisterE13 01:46, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Magolor's Shoppe Inventory (Super Kirby Clash) edits[edit]

Hi MisterE13. I reverted your changes to Magolor's Shoppe Inventory (Super Kirby Clash) for the reasons I listed in my edit summary, but I would like to explain better here.

  • The table was really wide, and wider than any other table I've seen here on WiKirby. It was hard for me to navigate on my phone, and it looked really cramped on my computer (1366x768). We also really never convey two items in one row.
  • The gear is split in the page how it's split in the shop of the game itself. The way you were changing the tables to merged all those in a very arbitrary way and it wasn't intuitive either, nor was it much organized. If someone for example wanted to check what are the Doctor Healmore weapons they don't have yet, it would be really hard for them to find out.
  • It was incomplete work. The page was good and organized before, and you started editing it and left incomplete work. If you do so, at least mark it with the construction template (that I saw you added then removed).
  • Perhaps the way the page is formatted right now isn't the best and could be changed for better, but right now it works. The page was marked as Good for a reason.

In short, I would just advise you to not do any major changes to a page marked Good before consulting with the community (like by asking in the page's talk page), or at least making it clear in edit summaries as to why you're doing those major changes: right now I'm still unsure as to why you were making those changes, which is one of the reasons I reverted them. And if you do major changes to a Good page, try to not leave incomplete work whenever possible.

If you have any further questions feel free to send them my way. As for myself, I'm honestly curious as to why you were making those changes. I am not completely against them, it's just that right now, with the information I have, it's hard for me to see why it would be a good idea to make them.- Gigi (talkedits) 11:28, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi, thanks a lot for the feedback!
I do have a few problems with the way the page is currently set up. Personally, I visited this page to be able to quickly compare the designs and descriptions of the weapons and armor which correspond to each other across the different roles. I think it's interesting to be able to see things like all of the "joke" gear or the Golden gear all at once, which is difficult to do in the game. Also, I've never really been a fan of tabs on wiki pages and found it especially hard to navigate between them here with the pair of collapsed tables inside each one of them. After looking into it some more, I also found that the Upgrade tables were difficult to navigate and the lists of Unlocks were in inconvenient places.
At first I thought it would be completely impossible to bring all this information into a digestible format (which I obviously still haven't managed to do) until I realised that equivalent gear often have many things in common such as their cost in the Shoppe. I think this is itself interesting information that isn't properly communicated by the existing tables. By limiting this repetition, I'm also hoping the page will stop being so much longer than any other page on the wiki.
As for leaving the work incomplete, I had used Template:Construction on an earlier draft that I saved but it must have gotten lost on my later work. In the future, I will be keeping an eye out for Good pages and be more mindful of them. For now, I've started yet another design at User:MisterE13/Magolor's Shoppe Inventory (Super Kirby Clash). I would definitely appreciate more feedback and design ideas from the community there.--MisterE13 16:30, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
