Discord invitation[edit]

Greetings. You've been doing some decent work recently, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in joining our Discord server. The staff of the wiki (including me) is there, so that way, you could easily ask us any questions you may have about editing and the series, and even just chat about the series in general, if you want. You can read up on the server and some about Discord in general here.

If you decide to join, you can get there by following this link. Whatever you decide to do, keep up the good work.

Cheers. -- Jellytost (talk) 03:47, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Dispute over "List of references to the Kirby series" page[edit]

Greetings, Hewer. I'm writing you this because you reverted an undo without discussion, particularly on the List of references to the Kirby series page. This is against site policy, particularly the dispute policy. Since this is the first time, and you probably didn't know this rule, you will not be penalized, but in future, if you want to dispute an undo, you need to take it to the appropriate discussion page and settle your disagreement there before you take action on the page again. If you still want to make the case, then go ahead and go to the discussion page for the page in question and make your case. For now, I am reverting your edit. --Samwell (talk) 15:04, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

I was indeed unaware of the policy, thank you for informing me. Hewer (talk · contributions) 15:24, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Regarding your edits that remove information[edit]

Greetings, Hewer. I've noticed that you often make edits that remove information from articles, and I assume your intent on doing it is to make them more concise, which is fine on its own. However, removing information for the sake of it goes against our policies; generally, if you remove something, we prefer for it to be instead rewritten than straight up removed, unless it really adds nothing to the article and doesn't fit the section its in. As a silly example, the sentence "Kirby is a small and pink puffball" could be reduced to "Kirby is pink", but if that sentence was in the Kirby page in his characteristics section, it wouldn't make sense to change it to that, because that section is meant to explain who Kirby is.

I quoted this from one of the reverts I did of your edits, and I will quote it again. From our writing specifics:

  • Do it better - Unless it's too long or wrong, don't cut stuff out. Make it better instead.

In short, try not to remove information from articles, unless it's really not relevant to it. It's fine to reduce sentences that are too long or make paragraphs be more to the point, but the most recent edits you've done haven't really done that. And if you want more clarification or have any further questions, feel free to ask. - Gigi (talkedits) 16:43, 9 February 2023 (UTC)

Noted, but I respectfully point out that I haven't been removing information for the sake of it - the only information my edits actually removed was condensing intro paragraphs, as that information is explained later in the article, and in the case of the Ado page, removing a tangent that was completely irrelevant to the section it's in (and is also already mentioned on the article).
