List of glitches[edit]

Out of Bounds glitches[edit]

Being a 3D game, Kirby and the Forgotten Land has many things to explore in areas past the playing field. If Kirby falls out of the level, he will take damage as if he has fallen into a Pit, and respawn on the last bit of solid ground he was touching.

Hammer Bounce[edit]

When Kirby has the Hammer ability or any of its evolved variants, he should Hover until he is tired, and then spit out the air and press and hold B. When he hits the ground with the hammer spin attack, he should then Hover again. This will cause him to shoot upwards. It can be used to bypass high walls of terrain and even some invisible walls, but camera restrictions and invisible ceilings are impassable.

Fire Bounce[edit]

Similar to the Hammer Bounce glitch, when Kirby has Fire or any of its evolved variants, he should Hover until he is tired, and then spit out the air and press and hold B. When he hits the ground with the standard fire spit attack, he should Hover again, causing him to shoot upwards.

Waddle Dee Town out of bounds[edit]

Using Hammer Bounce or Fire Bounce, Kirby can explore outside of the normal areas in Waddle Dee Town. Many trees only have their leaves and no trunk, and the Colosseum is empty on the inside. If Kirby goes too far out of bounds, he will fall into a large pool of water which rests beneath the town. The only way to return back in-bounds while in the water is to find the rocks poking out of the water in the south of the area and perform either glitch again.

Glitched Colosseum Cup[edit]

When Kirby is out of bounds in Waddle Dee Town, if he goes to the top-right section of the Colosseum, falls onto the grass platform outside of it, then floats underneath the part of the Colosseum that sticks out over the edge, he can go inside the walls of the Colosseum. From here, if he heads to the entrance and goes inside from behind without being entered into any cup, he will then participate in a glitched version of the Meta Knight Cup. It has one battle against a duo of Wild Frosty and Wild Bonkers. Although the game claims that Kirby is participating in the Meta Knight Cup, records will not be saved and Kirby will not receive the normal prize. Instead, he will get one Rare Stone if he completes the glitched cup.

Inside the Cinema[edit]

Using Hammer Bounce or Fire Bounce, Kirby can float into the Waddle Dee Cinema's showing area without selecting a movie to watch. He can also fall out of the level by doing this, which is the only way to damage and even kill Kirby in Waddle Dee Town.

Arch Mouth out of bounds[edit]

In Scale the Cement Summit's Arch Mouth section, if Kirby flies up into the ceiling of the first rock formation he passed under, he can escape the predetermined path of the Arch Mouth section. He can go as far left, right, and up as he likes, but going too far down will return him back to the level. The camera will have a hard time following Kirby properly. Kirby can go past the loading zone at the end of the section, and eventually the camera will start cooperating again. Past the loading zone, there is only an infinite plane of water, touching which will damage Kirby and respawn him at the last Checkpoint. When Kirby goes past the skybox of the area, every frame of his movement will be copied onto where the skybox used to be.

Colosseum music stop[edit]

If Kirby goes far enough away from a Colosseum boss battle using an out of bounds glitch, the music will stop.

Gameplay glitches[edit]

Glitches that alter gameplay or make the game behave in an unexpected manner.

Chaos Elfilis duplication[edit]

When fighting Chaos Elfilis's orb form, if Kirby goes out of bounds using a glitch and then falls off the level, another Chaos Elfilis will spawn in its first phase. Either one of the two can be defeated, and during cutscenes nothing will be able to harm Kirby. The battle ends like normal when one is defeated. They use two separate health bars, but the game only displays the one for the version of Chaos Elfilis which was last damaged. The camera also focuses on the newly spawned Chaos Elfilis. It's possible to spawn more than two of Chaos Elfilis by taking both down to the orb form, and then repeating the hammer bounce glitch, thus falling out of bounds. Four of Chaos Elfilis can be spawned before at risk of crashing the game. However, it's possible to exceed four.

Mouthful Storage[edit]

If Kirby is hit the frame he begins to inhale a Mouthful Mode object, it will then be "stored." When B is next pressed, the game will teleport the object to Kirby and have him use Mouthful Mode on it. This can be used to bring Mouthful Mode objects into areas they were not supposed to be in, and can be retained even when going through Doors and using a Warp Star.

Cone Mouth double jump[edit]

If Kirby jumps the frame the Mouthful Mode animation ends when eating a Cone, he will jump in midair. This can be used to bring the Cone into areas where it was not supposed to be in.

Infinite Time Crash[edit]

As Time Crash, when entering any Mouthful Mode, such as Vending Mouth or Ring Mouth, before Crash Fireball or Supernova wears off, Time Crash will not be removed, allowing it to be used for an effectively infinite duration.

Aesthetic glitches[edit]

These glitches only affect gameplay in a visual or audio-based manner, without actually altering the gameplay itself.

Inhale expression[edit]

When Kirby Inhales an enemy, Star Block, or other object, he will retain his last-used expression. For instance, when Kirby Dodges an attack and inhales immediately afterwards, he will have an angry expression on his face.

Hard to Reproduce[edit]

These glitches are hard to reproduce, or have no known method to do so.

The Beast Pack's Final Stand game crash[edit]

If Kirby uses the Hammer Bounce glitch in the Vending Mouth section of The Beast Pack's Final Stand, the game may corrupt textures and audio, make loud noises, and then crash.[1]
