Training[Japanese title] is a theme from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards that was composed by veteran composer Jun Ishikawa. This theme has received four remixes in Kirby Fighters 2.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[edit]
In this theme's debut appearance, the theme can be heard in the training video that plays near the beginning of the game.
Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]
When selecting Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards in the Kirby's History mode, the original version of "Training" plays.
Kirby Fighters 2[edit]
This theme reappeared in the game Kirby Fighters 2, with the original version appearing in the Battle Stage of the same name, which in turn is based on the same area that appeared in the Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards training video featuring the original theme. In addition, there are four remixes of this theme:
- One of the remixes is calmer, with guitar, piano, and mallet percussion sounds at the core of the arrangement. This remix can be heard when choosing an ability/buddy in the Training Mode.
- Two further remixes of this theme can be heard when playing the Training Mode and in the Online waiting rooms. Both are arrangements of a minor key medley that leads from Training into Green Greens and Ripple Star: Stage Select, but one uses orchestral instrumentation, while the other is set in chiptune. The game plays one of the two versions at random.
- A fourth remix can be unlocked as a secret song for the Training Battle Stage. This remix is energetic and played when doing a normal fight.
Kirby's Dream Buffet[edit]
In Kirby's Dream Buffet, if the player has save data for Kirby Fighters 2, the orchestral remix of "Training" from said game will be unlocked to be played during races and Free Rolling. It is named "Kirby Fighters 2: Bonus Song 1" in the Rewards Menu.
