Regarding the name change proposal[edit]

I notice a proposal has been made to move this page to Slippy, based on the manual for Kirby's Pinball Land. Before going through with this, it may be pertinent to check and see if this name appears in any other games. --Fubaka (talk) 20:56, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

Apparently, this enemy is just named Slippy most of the time. It's referred to as such on page 9 of the Kirby's Pinball Land instruction booklet, as well as pages 29 (Kirby's Adventure), 40 (Kirby's Block Ball), 46 (Kirby Super Star), 72 (Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land) and 100 (Kirby Super Star Ultra) of 20th Anniversary Hoshi no Kirby Pupupu Taizen. Sir Slippy looks to be exclusive to Kirby's Dream Land 2 in the same vein as Bouncy Ty, Propeller Bomb, Load Kibble, and Master Pengy. However, since the enemy doesn't make an appearance in recent games, Sir Slippy seems to be the most recent in-game name if only going by English sources. AdieuLain (talk) 21:05, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
I myself had a look, and was not able to find any other instances of either name in English manuals. Under normal circumstances, the naming of an article with a localized name should not be determined by its common Japanese name. In this case however, since Slippy has been used in English, we can go ahead and do the name change. --Fubaka (talk) 22:05, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

Star fox is referencing this[edit]

Is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pokèmon trainer Green (talkcontribs) 05:29, 11 July 2021 (UTC). Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

Considering that this is a very minor enemy and it first appeared only a year before the first Star Fox game, I highly doubt it. ---PinkYoshiFan 11:06, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
Kirby's Adventure actually released a month after Star Fox, the debut year was wrong here. –Wiz (talk · edits) 11:24, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
I'm going to fall on the side of "this probably isn't a reference to Slippy Toad from Star Fox", because unlike many other Nintendo IPs, Kirby and Star Fox have had basically nothing to do with each-other outside of Super Smash Bros. and the amiibo in Kirby: Planet Robobot. --Samwell (talk) 14:43, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
I agree. Seems like it would be a bit of a long-shot calling this a reference. -- Jellytost (talk) 23:58, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
