Regarding how to organize this page[edit]

Since this page is getting expanded a lot recently, I think it's best to discuss how to use organize it here. Right now we have four main sections: Artwork, Sprites, Icons and Screenshots, with each have subsections for each game, then each image posted has a description saying what copy ability it is. Simple, but effective. However, with so many copy abilities, games, and types of images in this gallery, this page could get really long and hard to navigate. So we could maybe create more divisions? We do that in the wiki here, and even the official Kirby site does its own distinction here. I personally think we could follow the wiki categories, I just don't know exactly how to do the divisions. Or, since we don't have too many of the non-regular copy abilities, we could just note them in the description? Or really just list them normally (as it is right now)? Umm, I don't really understand what do you mean by "follow the wiki categories". Can you elaborate? Superbound (talk) 18:00, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
I was referring to what I had just mentioned, how they are divided here. So more specifically, Standard, Combination, Special and Other. Gigi (talk) 19:04, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
And later, each section will be devided for each ability seperatly? Superbound (talk) 12:33, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Split into galleries based on each individual ability[edit]

Looking at this page, it's starting to get rather large and unwieldy, and will only become more so if we insist on filling it out with every ability image in the series' history (to the best of our ability, of course). I think it would be more pertinent to split the workload along each individual ability, and perhaps set up a hub page to ease navigation? Might also address Superbound's earlier unanswered concerns. --Samwell (talk) 00:33, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

That makes sense. ---PinkYoshiFan 00:36, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
I think making galleries for each Ability would be redundant since they're already fine on each of their respective pages, plus some like say Ball would be too small for one. If we were to split, I think per game would make the most sense, as then each game that has Copy Abilities has enough images to justify separate categories. Then we could instead link to said galleries on the game's gallery page. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:44, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, my suggestion would be to either split by game or only have one image per ability on this page, like on the Kirby Portal, with the links going to each ability's individual page gallery. StarPunch (talk) 03:39, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
I do like StarPunch's second suggestion. For abilities that don't have a lot of images (like Ball or Mini), we could just direct users to the gallery subsection of the main article, rather than a sub-page. --Samwell (talk) 16:43, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
Having this page become a hub for all the different pages with one image each sounds like it could work. ---PinkYoshiFan 14:23, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
I personally like the idea of this page being transformed into a "hub" of sorts, as Erika suggested. That makes the most sense to me in this case. -- Jellytost (talk) 04:31, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

Should we go ahead and make this a hub page then? ---PinkYoshiFan 19:44, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Feel free to start making a draft if you want. Otherwise, I might get around to it eventually. :P --Samwell (talk) 16:38, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
I made a draft page using the {{Ability Chart}} artwork (except smash, which I used the icon for). Does it look good? ---PinkYoshiFan 19:37, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Looks fine to me. I think linking to the gallery sections of each Copy Ability page makes more sense than trying to compile every image ever on one page. --Samwell (talk) 21:08, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
That all works for me. Looking back, no matter how we tried to structure this page it would be filled with repeats of other galleries, so a hub like the one PYF made works well. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:30, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
