Moveset Boxes[edit]

For copy abilities spanning different games, should there be one moveset box that specifies the changes of the moveset within the box, or have completely separate moveset boxes for each game? Having one moveset box will be less redundant, but any changes will make it hard to read and cluttery (especially if some games use B and some use 1), though having multiple moveset boxes will be less cluttery (within the box) and easier to read, but has the potential for redundancy because many of the moves are basically the same game-to-game, with a few new moves added/changed here and there. Actually, movesets can change drastically between games & not all games even have them (the Kirby's Dream Land games and Kirby 64 come to mind, which mostly have just a single function per ability, executed by a single button). Every game in the Game Appearances section that has a moveset should have a seperate, game-specific table (excluding remakes, which should probably share a table with the original game, but they're usually in the same section anyway). Possible exception may be Squeak Squad if the moveset is identical to that in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, in which case we could just state this in the section in plain text and only have the Mirror moveset as a table.--Vellidragon 14:18, 16 January 2012 (CST)

Checked Kirby & the Amazing Mirror again and it actually does not list moves on the pause screen, despite clearly having multiple moves for a number of abilities (like Fighter and Smash); not sure about Squeak Squad. If "movesets" exist but are not actually listed on the pause screen, should we just say how to perform actions in the main text of the specific game's section, or do something different? That's a possibility... Should be a case-by-case thing, though. I can see its making sense for stuff like the aforementioned Fighter and Smash abilities, but where there is only one actual move or different ways of usage are more trivial (stuff like holding the button while using Parasol to make the parasol remain in front of Kirby), incorporating them into the text seems more sensible to me (for games where no official moveset it provided; if the game names the moves, a moveset table should always be required, if only to properly list the move names). Would basically be a common sense thing; if a table helps understanding the moves, we could use one; if the description can explain them just as well, there's no reason to have a table.--Vellidragon 22:44, 26 January 2012 (CST)
