Mario, Luigi, Birdo, and Peach make a cameo in Megaton Punch.

Mario is a plumber and the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, as well as Nintendo's mascot, first appearing in the game Donkey Kong. He appears alongside Kirby in all six games of the Super Smash Bros. series, as well as making a few cameo appearances throughout the Kirby series. He is furthermore a main character in the educational video Mario Kirby Masterpiece Video, which also stars Kirby, as well as appearing together with him in various Club Nintendo comics. Mario wears a red shirt, blue overalls, white gloves, and a red hat with an "M" for "Mario" on it. He has a mustache and a large nose. He has a superior jumping ability, and appears to be able to hold his breath underwater for long periods of time.

In the games Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, a golden statue of Mario is the rarest of the statues that Kirby can turn into with the Stone ability.

Also in these games, he can be seen cheering on Kirby in his fight against King Dedede, as well as during the Megaton Punch sub-game, alongside other characters from his series.

Mario appears alongside Kirby in all five Super Smash Bros. games. In the Subspace Emissary, he fights Kirby at the very beginning, and gets knocked out by a cannonball shot by Petey Piranha. Pit finds him as a trophy, revives him, and the two team up, eventually teaming up with Kirby, Link and Yoshi, and getting turned into trophies by Tabuu.
