This article is about one of the musical themes related to the Halberd. For the game where this theme originated, see Revenge of Meta Knight. For the two similar themes playing alongside this one, see Boarding the Halberd and Havoc Aboard the Halberd.

Above the Halberd is a music track debuting in Kirby Super Star, playing in Revenge of Meta Knight. It is a repetitive and powerful theme, playing in most of the game's cutscenes.

Game Appearances[edit]

Kirby Super Star (Ultra)[edit]

In these games, Above the Halberd is heard during the cutscenes featuring the Halberd taking damage (excepting the final cutscene), as well as the cutscenes in which Kirby approaches the Halberd (However, the second cutscene in this category featuring Dyna Blade plays Boarding the Halberd instead in Kirby Super Star Ultra).

Kirby Air Ride[edit]

While more of minor piece, Above the Halberd can be selected as an alternate theme for Magma Flows. This version is remastered with higher-quality MIDI instruments.

Kirby: Squeak Squad[edit]

A track in this game named "The Legendary Halberd" features a remix of the music in its intro, but switches to The Legendary Air Ride Machine soon after. It can be heard before the battle with Meta Knight and in some mechanical stages. It is first heard in Jam Jungle - Stage 4.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]

A remix of "The Legendary Halberd" from Kirby: Squeak Squad can be unlocked to be played in the Music Room. Like the original version, Above the Halberd is only featured in the intro of the song.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

An arrangement of Above the Halberd titled "Return of Meta Knight" serves as the title theme for Meta Knightmare Returns. A portion of it is also used in the Dedede's Tridimensional Cannon theme as a connecting piece and as part of the beginning of the track. Both of these tracks are remixed by Hirokazu Ando.

Kirby Battle Royale[edit]

In the game, the "Return of Meta Knight" track from Planet Robobot appears in the Music Collection as Cake Royale 8 and is essentially a theme of Meta Knight in this game, playing in some of the cutscenes starring him during Dedede's Cake Royale, while it is replaced by "Brothers in Arms" after winning the Qualifier Battle against him.
