The green fiends that rise up from the cemetery are called Zombons. They're mostly small, but steer clear. They'll turn you into Zombons if they have their way. Attack any of your friends-turned-fiends immediately to break the curse.
— Daroach, in Kirby Mass Attack

KMA Zombon sprite.png Zombon is a zombified version of Beanbon that appears in Kirby Mass Attack. Initially, it takes on the role as the weakest, most vulnerable enemy in certain stages of Volcano Valley, and essentially replaces Mummbon from the Sandy Canyon stages. In some of the areas in which it appears, Zombons will continuously pop up from the ground, replacing those that are defeated. Zombon yields 100 points when defeated.

Overall, Zombon has a similar appearance to Beanbon. It has red eyes and a two leaves atop its head that both appear to have been chewed and tattered. It is a sickly green color, with dark green spots on its face, round purple feet and a mouth that appears to have been stitched shut. There is a larger variant of Zombon called Big Zombon, with which Zombon shares certain characteristics.

Zombon mainly attacks by shooting small, spherical red blobs at Kirby that trap him in a poisonous bubble on contact. The player must tap Kirby to pop the bubble and save him. If the bubble is not popped in time, Kirby will turn into a Zombon. Attacking the zombified Kirby will transform him back to normal. Otherwise, the zombified Kirby will burrow into the ground and be lost.

The name 'Zombon' is derived from the words 'zombie' and Beanbon, a common enemy from the same game.
