  • March 23rd, 2020 - Hello all! It's time to elect a new Editor in Chief. Thanks to Fubaka (Talk) for all your work.
  • February 22nd, 2020 - The proposal regarding the requirements for featured articles has passed unanimously! Candidates for featured articles are no longer required to have two paragraphs or more in their opening abstract! That means articles that are necessarily relatively light in their openings no longer need to be barred from featurement!
  • February 7th, 2020 - Heads up! A new proposal has been made regarding the guidelines for featuring articles. Head to the proposals page to cast your vote before the 21st of February!
  • February 2nd, 2020 - Due to WiKirby's growing community, a formal proposals page has been created and added to the sidebar! If you have any suggestions or ideas to change how WiKirby operates, go and make a proposal there! Make sure to read the rules carefully, though.
  • January 25th, 2020 - Local editor YoshiFlutterJump has just been promoted to administrator! Make sure to give him your best Face-to-Face!
  • January 24th, 2020 - Happy Birthday, WiKirby! Today is WiKirby's tenth anniversary! A big thank you to everyone who helped WiKirby stick around this long! We will continue to work toward making WiKirby the best wiki it can be. Look forward to the 4000 page milestone, because it is coming!
  • December 8th, 2019 - The image resolution referendum has concluded! Option 2 is the winner, which means that upscaled images will be allowed on the wiki for general use, so long as they are not mistaken for vanilla screenshots or sprites, and native resolution images will still be preferred for all front-line content. Thanks to everyone who voted! The image standards will shortly be updated to reflect this recent decision.
  • November 10th, 2019 - Heads up! A referendum is taking place regarding how WiKirby should handle upscaled screenshots! If you want to help vote on the issue, go to this referendum page and cast a vote! The referendum ends after December 7th, 2019!
  • October 5th, 2019 - A new feature has been added to the wiki! Articles and files can now be marked as "Good" and given a special icon representing them as such. This new feature has been tied in to the revised featured content policy, and details can be found on that page.
  • September 24th, 2019 - Open the floodgates! WiKirby now allows unregistered users to make edits on pages. Still, any and all anonymous editors to the site are encouraged to make an account so we can be friends!
  • September 23rd, 2019 - The policy referendum has concluded and will now be archived. Thanks to everyone who took part in helping forge the new policy. Speaking of which, the new policy is now being implemented on the wiki. Be sure to check that out when you get the time and let Fubaka know if anything could be improved. Cheers!
  • September 19th, 2019 - Here it comes again! This year's Cross-Wiki Weekend will be happening this weekend, from the 20th to the 22nd of September! Head to the WiKirby:Cross-Wiki Weekend page to learn how to take part!

  • September 6th, 2019 - Fubaka was elected Editor-in-Chief.
  • September 4th, 2019 - During the Nintendo Direct, a surprise sequel to Team Kirby Clash Deluxe was announced for release later today! The game is called Super Kirby Clash! Coverage forthcoming!
  • September 4th, 2019 - HAL Laboratory is hiring new developers for the Kirby series! This can only mean one thing...a new game must be in the works! Full details can be found (in Japanese) at this link.
  • August 7th, 2019 - Monobook is the new default skin and voting is open for the election.
  • August 3rd, 2019 - With the Wiki growing, we have two crucial things going on we would like community discussion on:
    1. Which skin will be the new default for the wiki?

  • November 25th, 2018 - It is revealed that The Three Mage-Sisters will unambiguously become part of Kirby's Dream Friend entourage in the upcoming update to Kirby Star Allies. Kirby always finds a way to make friends! Look forward to playing as them along with the others on November 30th!
  • November 8th, 2018 - The final wave of Dream Friends - in addition to a new mysterious mode - have been announced for Kirby Star Allies, set to release on November 30th, 2018! To round up the line-up, the new friends include Magolor, Taranza, and Susie, making all three playable for the first time.
  • September 18th, 2018 - Heads up, Dream Landers! This year's Cross-Wiki Weekend will be happening this weekend, from the 21st to the 23rd of September! Head to the WiKirby:Cross-Wiki Weekend page to learn how to take part!
  • September 13th, 2018 - In the Nintendo Direct, a remake of Kirby's Epic Yarn is announced for Nintendo 3DS, titled Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn! Coverage to come soon!
  • July 27th, 2018 - Kirby Star Allies is updated to version 3.0.0, adding three new Dream Friends to the game, making adjustments to Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!, adding three new Celebration Pictures, and other changes.
  • July 5th, 2018 - The second set of Dream Friends - Daroach, Dark Meta Knight, and Adeleine & Ribbon - will be released in a free update for Kirby Star Allies on July 27th, 2018!
  • June 12th, 2018 - At E3, Nintendo reveals Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to be released for the Nintendo Switch on December 7th, 2018. Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight will return as playable fighters, along with more than 60 others!
  • April 27th, 2018 - On the turn of Kirby's 26th anniversary, the Japanese 25th anniversary site and Twitter feed have re-branded themselves to remove the '25' motif. The links to these pages have also changed into the following: Kirby Portal & Kirby Twitter.
  • March 28th, 2018 - The first set of Dream Friends - Gooey, Marx and Rick & Kine & Coo - release as free DLC for Kirby Star Allies. Make 'em dance!
  • March 16th, 2018 - Get ready to toss your hearts around; Kirby Star Allies releases in all regions today! Full coverage will come in over the weekend and beyond!
  • March 4th, 2018 - The Kirby Star Allies demo has been released for all other regions!
  • March 1st, 2018 - A demo version of Kirby Star Allies has been released for the Nintendo eShop in Europe!
  • January 11th, 2018 - The official release date for Kirby Star Allies is set at March 16th, 2018 for all regions. In addition, two never-before-seen Copy Abilities are confirmed for the title; Artist and Spider!

  • September 13th, 2017 - A Nintendo Direct reveals the title of the upcoming Switch title as Kirby Star Allies. Additionally, the hinted-at 3DS title is revealed as Kirby: Battle Royale. Coverage forthcoming!

  • April 27th, 2017 - Today marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Kirby's Dream Land in Japan!
  • April 12th, 2017 - Team Kirby Clash Deluxe is released for Nintendo 3DS (digital only)! Additionally, another expanded Sub-Game, Kirby's Blowout Blast is set to release on 3DS this summer. Finally, an undisclosed multiplayer Kirby game is set to release at the end of the year for 3DS.
  • September 21st, 2016 - With Nintendo's birthday coming up, the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance (NIWA) will be hosting a Cross-Wiki Weekend Event from the 23rd to the 25th.   • September 16th, 2012 - Kirby's Dream Collection, a package celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Kirby series, has been released in North America! Coinciding with its release, Nintendo of America is hosting a contest to win a free copy of the game; more information can be found on this Facebook page by Nintendo. In addition, owners of the game get a chance to win Kirby-themed round playing cards from Club Nintendo; check them out here. WiKirby wishes good luck to all entrants!

  • June 23rd, 2012 - To celebrate 20 years of Kirby, Kirby's Dream Collection has been announced for the Wii! The package will feature ports of six classic Kirby games as well as bonus material and — according to a tweet by Nintendo of America — will hit North America on the 16th of September. First an administrator at Zelda Wiki, then founding member of NIWA and owner of WiKirby, his passion and dedication remains imprinted in these projects to this day. WiKirby owes its very existence to him, and is forever dedicated to his memory. Our thoughts are with Josh's family at this difficult time.

As you may have already noticed, our URL has been changed from wikirby.info to wikirby.com; unfortunately it hasn't been possible to renew the old domain name which was owned by Josh, so we changed to .com to make sure nobody will have problems accessing WiKirby. Most links on search engines have already been updated, so please be sure to update any bookmarks you may have saved. Rest assured that WiKirby will stay online; we aren't going anywhere! Here's to another fun and fruitful year together!
  • October 24th, 2011 - Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Kirby's newest adventure and the first original game with traditional Kirby gameplay since Kirby: Squeak Squad, has been released in North America! Coinciding with this, the main page has received a little redesigning, which is not necessarily final; do let us hear your opinions on the talk page. It's been a tough and uncertain time for WiKirby since the loss of its founder and main admin, but it doesn't look like it's going down any time soon. A big thank you to all who still support WiKirby even in these times, and be sure to help with our coverage of the pink puffball's latest endeavour as well!
  • March 20th, 2011 - The NIWA staff were informed that Joshua "Axiomist" LeJeune, founder and owner of WiKirby, has passed away. Please leave a message to the family here, as well as a moment to read his farewell letter.

  • February 22nd, 2011 - Also newish, Nintendo of Europe's official site for Kirby's Epic Yarn is now working! NOE Official Epic Yarn page is more similar to the Nintendo of Japan site than the Nintendo of America one. Enjoy!
  • February 22nd, 2011 - A writer for 1Up.com is counting down for the 3DS release in a novel way. Jeremy Parish is giving the DS a Departing Salute by reminding gamers of some of the best DS games. Kirby: Canvas Curse made this list at number 10! Read it here.
  • February 17th, 2011 - Club Nintendo sent a Kirby patch with a colTemplate:Oring error in Kirby's eyes. To make up for this, not only did they mail a corrected version, but also included an otherwise unreleased Parachute form patch! All of the patches can be seen in the Merchandise article.
  • January 28th, 2011 - During Nintendo's investor meeting in Japan, the company revealed a new Kirby game in the works. (Source). Check out our article on Wii Kirby for more information!
January 27th, 2011 - NIWA News: Metroid Wiki is also celebrating its first year! WiKirby and Metroid Wiki both began operations this week, one year ago during the founding days of NIWA. We wish them a happy birthday and good luck for more! We also expect to have a coordinated birthday bash with them someday.

  • January 9th, 2011- The Official Kirby site has a new Patchifyer tool! You can use it to turn your photos into Patchwork!
  • January 9th, 2011- Happy Birthday to Zelda Temple, Zelda Temple is an associated site to WiKirby through Zelda Wiki, NIWA, and Fire Emblem Wiki. When WiKirby was born (almost a year ago now on January 24th) Zelda Temple's webmaster Yusei helped answer several tech questions. So we do wish them a Happy Birthday and many more!
  • January 7th, 2011- NintendoWorld 2011 has begun. The 3DS release date was announced for 2-26-11, and we'll be watching for any Kirby specific news.
  • January 1st, 2011- Happy New Years! WiKirby will be working with a new Let's Player, so expect updates on this! Animal Crossing Wiki is now Nookipedia, check out their great new site design as well!
  • December 30th, 2010- Nintendo.co.uk lists February 25, 2011 as the Kirby's Epic Yarn PAL (Europe and Australia) release date
  • December 30th, 2010- Club Nintendo is offering Kirby's Epic Yarn patches for 350 coins per pair. 2 sets are available. Kirby and Prince Fluff, & Kirby in Off-Roader and Saucer forms. Simply register your Nintendo games and equipment at Nintendo.com to earn coins and "buy" prizes.
  • December 27th, 2010- On December 22, we experienced a server glitch which not only disabled the wiki, but also lost content created from November 25th to December 22. If anything you've edited during that time is missing, we do apologize and hope that you will resubmit your edits. We attempted several database restores but have not succeeded in regaining those contributions. WiKirby is now unlocked!

November 19, 2010 - New NIWA Member: Animal Crossing Wiki is now an official NIWA member! This wiki started by our affiliate, Animal Crossing Forums and merged with the great staff of the Animal Crossing Wikia site.
  • November 16th, 2010- WiKirby discovered that Nintendo finally has the Kirby's Epic Yarn manual available online as a downloadable pdf page. You can view it here at Nintendo.com.

October 15, 2010 - New NIWA Member: NIWA's newest member has been announced! WiKirby welcomes Smash Wiki, the number one source for Super Smash Bros. information to NIWA! We look forward to working with them for all of the Super Smash Bros coverage, bettering both wikis!
  • October 29th, 2010- Club Nintendo is offering 10 bonus coins for registering Kirby's Epic Yarn by November 16th. See Club Nintendo for other bonuses and prizes!
  • October 23, 2010- Iwata Asks: Late report, but an Iwata Asks interview concerning Kirby's Epic Yarn can be found here.
  • October 21, 2010- Downtime: Apologies for the recent downtime, unfortunately there was an issue with the database server. All is now OK, and WiKirby has been restored from a recent backup. Thanks to our rigorous backup schedule, only a minimal amount of edits were lost, approximately 8 hours worth in total (i.e. those changes made directly before we went offline). We're assured by our hosting provider that measures are in place to avoid future problems of this nature.

  • October 17, 2010- Kirby's Epic Yarn was released in the US! We'll report on reviews and sales data as soon as possible.
October 15, 2010 - StrategyWiki, our partner site for Kirby strategy guides is now a full member of NIWA! StrategyWiki has a large library of even Kirby guides, and the unknown reader can create wanted guides as well!
  • October 14, 2010- Kirby's Epic Yarn released in Japan, and the US official site has been updated recently. Visit the Official Site to see the name of several areas, friends, foes, transformations, and trailers for the upcoming Wii title!
  • October 10, 2010- Affiliation news- A YouTube "Let's Play" video uploader and WiKirby have affiliated! Nico will be adding videos and commentary for Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. We'll add his videos to the Main Page video rotation and we recommend subscribing to Nico's channel!
October 8, 2010 - We have 2 new NIWA members this week! Our new friends at PikminCanon-NOT and Pikipedia not only are joining us, but have moved from Wikia to do so! Check out all of the great styling they created on their wiki! Both are separate domains on Pikminwiki.com.
October 4, 2010 - Fellow NIWA member Wars Wiki has declared a victory for spelling deviations by region! Citizens of the United States and the European Union can rest assured, with peace at hand, one never has to see the other's spelling in the article body. Be sure to check out their great, new personalized feature!
October 2, 2010 - New NIWA Member: NIWA has just announced their newest member, Lylat Wiki, your wiki for everything Star Fox related! Make sure you drop in and help out!
  • September 29, 2010- New Kirby DS game revealed today! During Nintendo's software lineup video for upcoming DS titles an all new Kirby DS game can be seen. Details are scarce, but see our analysis on the game!
  • September 25, 2010- Nintendo has sent a promotional email for Kirby's Epic Yarn recommending a visit to The Official Site. As of this posting, the "Full Site" is coming soon. See the email here!
  • September 23, 2010- V260 of Nintendo Power magazine features more Kirby's Epic Yarn news and a special column from Kirby's and Super Smash Bros.'s creator, Masahiro Sakurai. Masahiro discusses Kirby's Adventure on the NES and upcoming 3DS.
  • September 16, 2010- Tokyo Game Show wrapped up, Although Nintendo skipped the show, a new trailer, several new screenshots and cute artwork patches for Kirby's Epic Yarn have been released!
  • September 12, 2010- Mario Wiki has released a new issue of their resident periodical, The 'Shroom. The issue includes fun games, puzzles, Mario news, and NIWA news, read Issue XLI here!
  • September 10, 2010- New Affiliate: WiKirby has a new affiliate in the form of the Fire Emblem Wiki, a brand new wiki for all things Fire Emblem! Be sure to pay a visit!
  • September 6, 2010- WiKirby now has its first featured picture up and on the main page! Be sure to check it out, and vote for the next one!
September 1st, 2010 - NIWA News: Metroid: Other M for Wii has been released in the US, with other regions getting a release today or tomorrow! Fans of the Metroid series should be sure to head over to our friends at Metroid Wiki to catch all the exciting info fresh off the press!

  • July 13, 2010-Super Mario Wiki has released Issue XL of the 'Shroom, their in-house wiki news report with occasional NIWA news, and always with a slate of fun content.
  • June 15, 2010- Kirby's Epic Yarn was announced at E3 and an all new trailer for the upcoming Wii title displayed never-seen-before graphical styles. The video featured bursts of gameplay footage in the style of an animated tapestry, with even Kirby himself being a versatile piece of yarn.
  • July 19, 2010-NIWA friend, Chuggaconroy has been banned by Youtube based on weak claims of DMCA violations! YouTube does not investigate DMCA claims and several top directors were suspended on account of gross exploitation of YouTube policy.

  • May 16, 2010- WiKirby's affiliate, the NIWA, has released its new hub website! The new site features enhanced navigation, more links, and a showcase of the member wikis. Check it out at their home page!
  • May 9, 2010- WiKirby would like to wish you all a happy Mother's Day! As a gift, we got you a little something special: A confirmation of the Kirby Wii game! Apparently, it has been confirmed in the official Nintendo sales report/game listings, which can be viewed here. Check for Hoshi no Kirby to find it with a release date TBA. Story was found here. Have a good one, Kirby fans!

  • February 11, 2010- WiKirby skin completed and implemented.
  • January 30, 2010- URLs fixed and logo added to WiKirby.
  • January 28, 2010- WiKirby opened for edits as a soft launch to get core articles, policy, and help pages created before submitting the url to Google. With experienced Wiki editors from other wikis, the bugs in the system should be found and routed out before then.
