Early afternoon in Dream Land... It's so peaceful that even the clouds are drowsy. And that means it's time for a vote! This one will pertain to the wiki's logo, which you see in the top-left corner.

Background

When I first joined the wiki, I noticed that the logo was... charming, but a maybe bit outdated (it's based on Super Star Ultra) and not reflective of the wiki's current professionalism. Since other NIWA wikis have gotten logo redesigns—like MarioWiki—I brought up a discussion about redesigning that was met with general approval. Some time passed and I decided to offer my own interpretation of a redesigned logo based on the input of others (primarily Samwell). Here are the two logos back to back:

It's designed primarily in the mold of the anniversary logos, using art from Canvas Curse as the basis and the Dream Collection title font for the name. The color scheme is based on Kirby's, while maintaining the gold accents that were originally there. In my opinion, this logo would provide a nice refresh for the main icon of the wiki, and also lend some more professionalism while maintaining the same charm.

The vote

However, the decision is up to the community at large, whether we should maintain the old logo or proceed with the new one (or neither). This can be narrowed down to essentially three options:

  1. Option 1: Proceed with the new logo.
  2. Option 2: Continue using the old one.
  3. Option 3: Use a new logo, but not this one.

If you have any suggestions for the current logo, you can also provide them on the talk page or, for a faster response, send a message in the Discord.

Voting procedure and deadline

Each registered user will be allowed to vote in this referendum using the talk page. Votes must consist of a list of the options from most to least preferred. As an example, a user could vote by saying "Option 1, Option 2, Option 3", and it will be ranked in descending order. Options will be awarded points as follows:

  1. First choice - 3 points
  2. Second choice - 2 points
  3. Third choice - 1 point

Users will be allowed to change their votes at any time while the poll is open. Users may also choose less than three options, with unchosen options receiving no points. Remember to sign your name on your vote, or it will not be counted!

This vote will run until the 30th of August, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m. UTC. Once the deadline passes, the score will be tallied and the option with the most points will be selected as the winning choice. Each user may only vote once; please do not attempt to vote multiple times or campaign for a specific choice. The talk page may also be used to discuss the options, but keep it civil. Thank you!
