Failed Featured Article Nominations

The following nominations for Featured Articles have been unsuccessful.

Road to Victory (August 22nd, 2023 - September 5, 2023)

Lately, I've noticed that there haven't been any nominations for pages, especially music ones. Since this is a milestone for this wiki (the 4,000th page) and a prominent theme for its origin game, why not nominate it? --Paistrie (talk) 01:25, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

  1. While it would be a great page to feature, a two-sentence opening abstract seems too short to put on the main page. ---PinkYoshiFan 01:37, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

Chef Kawasaki (May 8th-May 22nd, 2021)

A lengthy article about a great midboss. Who's with me? Kawasaki'sBiggestFan (talk) 00:19, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

  1. First, the article's opening is waaaaaay too short, it shouldn't have been even nominated in state like this. Second, it needs images from Star Stacker, one or two screenshots should be good enough. Three, it currently uses highly dynamic gif (that shows the audience for less that a second of it) to showcase his appearance in KBR. I tried hard and didn't couldn't see anything. Additionally, the article is just lacking to be featured - it's good, but not great enough to be on the main page. I'll be happy to change my vote once all of this gets fixed. Superbound (talk) 14:44, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
  2. I think this article could be worked on a little more before it gets featured. It has lots of work to be done. - GameDoor64 (talk) (edits)
  3. I'm mostly with Superbound here. The opening is too short (not waaaaaay too short, just too short). Not only are Star Stacker screenshots needed, but the section on it needs to be expanded. The KBR gif is a less important thing, but it's still notable; I had to see it a few times before noticing the picture of Kawasaki in the bottom right. I think a cropped screenshot that focuses on the picture would work better. Overall, this article has great potential, it just needs some fixing. --DeepFriedCabbage 20:27, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
  4. I agree with the above. It has potential, but needs more work - such as the tasks listed above - done to it first before it gets the spotlight, I think. -- Jellytost (talk) 07:53, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Kirby (anime character) (February 2nd, 2021 - February 16th, 2021)

Kirby in the games is featured, so why not feature his anime counterpart as well? The article is very well-written, and has a mighty gallery to go along with it. I say it deserves to be featured. How about you all? -- Jellytost (talk) 09:02, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

  1. LGFTM. There are currently no problem tags present, and documentation is sufficient. --pandakekok9 (poyo) 10:36, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
  2. I've no issue supporting this nomination. It meets all technical qualifications, so whether or not it gives Kirby 2 weeks on the page is insubstantial, imo. --Samwell (talk) 05:54, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
  3. As Samwell said, it meets all qualifications, and is there any reason not to give the reason for our wiki's existence more time to shine? ---PinkYoshiFan 16:15, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

  1. A few episodes and characters are already featured, and virtually all link to this article so it's not going to be unseen. To say something is lacking, it is not, but since the same character from games is featured I find it unnecessary that Kirby takes 2 weeks on the main page. —Viperision (talk) 09:45, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
  2. Personally, I would agree with Viper above. Kirby has had his time in the spotlight already, and I agree that it's easy to see the anime Kirby from previously featured episodes and articles pertaining to the anime. So for me, I would oppose. EleCyon (talk) 05:58, 9 February 2021 (UTC)\
  3. First of all I strongly disagree with EleCyon, pandakekok, Pinkyoshifan, Samwell and Viperision. What article is on the front page is secondary reason to support nomination and should not take priority over article itself. Additionally, the article is lacking, I didn't learn anything about what Kirby does in these episodes. Does he defeats King Dedede? Maybe he just eats food? Who knows, the only way to find out is to check 100 different pages and read plot summaries hoping to quickly find what you look for. Something a lá what MetaDragon is currently working in her Sandbox (permalink, check Kirby (Mie Takase) section) might work, and be preferably be applied to other anime characters pages. Alternatively split it into subsections like Waddle Dee (anime character) for primary appearances only (could be useful for less important characters).
Too long; didn't read; but I should: Page is good, but there are other pages (also marked as Good), which are better quality and simply doesn't match the level of other featured articles. Superbound (talk) 21:22, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Copy Ability (July 4, 2020 - July 18, 2020)

This article is organized and really detailed and quite informative about what Copy Ability is. What do yoy all think? Superbound (talk) 17:34, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

  1. Normally I would be in favor, and actually I almost nominated this myself a while ago, but then I saw Copy Ability/gallery was incomplete and started working on completing it. In theory the copy ability page shouldn't even be marked as "Good", but I let it be because it was due to just that gallery page. However, I am opposed to having it become a featured article until we complete that. Gigi (talk) 17:47, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Off-topic (maybe?) question: is there a reason why lists can't be featured? Superbound (talk) 17:34, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

My primary reasoning for excluding lists was because they do not feature the well-rounded nature of proper articles. It's little more than a collection of bits, rather than a cohesive whole. --Samwell (talk) 05:07, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

My Friend and the Sunset (January 29th, 2020 - January 29th, 2020)

We haven't featured a music page yet. I think this one would do good as the first. What say you all? --Fubaka (talk) 05:56, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

  1. As much as I would love to try something new and feature a music article, the opening abstract is required to have at least two paragraphs, and this one doesn't. --YFJ (talk · edits) 14:15, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Waddle Dee (5 September 2010 - 31 October 2010)

  1. It's a good article, but sadly incomplete; quite a bunch of game appearances are missing from the article, there is no section on the anime, and it could use more pictures as well to better illustrate individual appearances & types - Spear Waddle Dees for instance are mentioned, but there is no picture of them. Besides that, it is currently missing an infobox. Looking at these things, I don't think it should be featured at the moment, though I'd be willing to support once it covers the subject in greater detail; as Waddle Dees are highly characteristic enemies of the Kirby series, they deserve a more extensive coverage in my opinion.--Vellidragon 10:26, 6 September 2010 (CDT)

I'm almost ready to vote for it, I can see a few expansions to make for it. I'd like to see a section on the variants since they have different names at the end of CC at least. (Spear Waddle Dee, Fluff, Parasol, etc) (images would rock) I realize there isn't much to say about them, but it still serves to cover all of the info on them. Otherwise, I'm going to try transparenting all of the page's images, and I'll be ready to call it a winner. This would be a great article to have featured, kudos to all who have worked on it!
