That whip is cool and all... but the hat is where it's really at. Whip your enemies into shape! Wrap 'em up while you're at it!
— Knuckle Joe's comment in Kirby Battle Royale

Whip is a Copy Ability that debuted in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, obtained by swallowing whip-related enemies. Whip Kirby looks like a cowboy, and attacks by lashing out his whip in several ways. The ability can be used to obtain items across solid walls, as Kirby's whip can go through them. This allows him to reach otherwise unreachable switches and stars.

Game appearances

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

The Whip ability debuted in this title, first appearing prominently in the Raisin Ruins stage. It allowed Kirby to attack at a distance, and grab both items and enemies from a distance, even through walls and other obstacles. A Challenge Stage is devoted to the Whip ability, which can be accessed once enough Energy Spheres are collected.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Whip reappears as an ability in this title. It also makes an appearance as one of the abilities in Kirby Fighters.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

Whip is one of the Copy Abilities which can be selected in Kirby Fighters Deluxe. It looks and functions identically to the way it did in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Whip appears in this title, along with a new enemy who provides it, an egg-shaped bandit named Wester, who can use the Whip Tornado to travel between planes.

Kirby Battle Royale

Whip is one of the abilities usable in this action-multiplayer title. Here, Whip Kirby has the ability to catch other Kirbys with his whip, and toss them about. Whip Kirby can also grab items like Apples from a distance.
