Waddle Dee Train Tracks is a Battle Stage in Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Kirby Fighters 2. It is based on Old Odyssey - Stage 1 from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and features a Waddle Dee Train that regularly threatens to hit the fighters.

Layout

Waddle Dee Train Tracks is a large stage with two Thin Floors - one on each side - which are uneven in height. At regular intervals, a Waddle Dee Train can come riding in through the center of the stage from a tunnel in the background, or it can come riding across the stage from the left or right after a brief warning cue is given to the players. Getting hit by the train deals 48 damage to the fighters, and will knock them into the Fourth Wall if hit from the background. It is possible to avoid the Waddle Dee Train moving laterally by taking cover on the thin floor to the left or remaining in the air.

The aesthetic of the stage is taken from Old Odyssey - Stage 1, from Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Aside from increased visual fidelity, the stage looks practically identical in its visuals to its source game.

In Kirby Fighters 2, it is possible to toggle on or off the hazards for this stage in regular battles. When hazards are off, no Waddle Dee Trains will appear.

Unlock requirements

In Kirby Fighters Deluxe, Waddle Dee Train Tracks is only available to players who have StreetPass data on their Nintendo 3DS systems for Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

In Kirby Fighters 2, Waddle Dee Train Tracks is unlocked upon attaining Fighters Rank level 23. The secret song for the stage is unlocked at a Fighters Rank of 92.

Main article: Old Odyssey - Stage 1

Waddle Dee Train Tracks takes its setting from Old Odyssey - Stage 1 in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. This stage features many points where Kirby has to traverse train tracks that are regularly patrolled by Waddle Dee Trains, and getting hit by them will launch him into the screen much as it does in the battle stage. Later on in the stage, Kirby gets to use the Hypernova ability to swallow several trains whole.
