Eiyashou Avalanche is a spiritual sequel/parody of Kirby's Avalanche designed and developed by Sanshiro and released by Croft Games for the Wii U, 3DS, PC, and Mac on June 6, 2016. It takes the gameplay of Kirby's Avalanche and adds more space for blobs to drop, more stages, among other things. It also crosses over with the Touhou Project games, having Kirby accompanied by Kaguya Houraisan and Fujiwara no Mokou during cutscenes, who will also assist the player during gameplay.

Gameplay

In Eiyashou Avalanche, like in Template:KA KGT, certain groups of Template:Coloured blobs fall from the top of the screen. the unknown reader must then rotate the groups (or formations) of blobs before they touch the bottom of the screen or the pile of blobs below, so that matching Template:Coloured blobs touch from above, below, and the right and/or left. Once four more same-Template:Coloured blobs touch each other, they will disappear, and any blobs above them will fall down to fill in the empty space.

If the unknown reader manages to set off a chain reaction with these blobs, rocks will then fall onto the opponents screen. The number of rocks that fall depend both on the number of blobs destroyed and the number of consecutive chain reactions, if any. These rocks will only disappear if the unknown reader manages to destroy (pop) a full group of blobs that are in direct contact with the rocks.

Kaguya Houraisan and/or Fujiwara no Mokou will occasionally appear at the top of the unknown reader's screen and drop power-ups, such as the ability to drop rocks on the opponent's screen for a short period of time without having to set off a chain reaction.

If five or more chain reactions are set off at the same time, the game enters "Fever" mode, in which the unknown reader must match the Template:Coloured blobs as fast as they can in one minute. After a chain reaction is set off or the timer runs out, normal gameplay resumes.

Dialogue

Stage Name Appearance Abbr. Pre-Battle Exchange Notes
Lesson 1 Waddle Dee File:KAvWaddleDee.png WADE Kirby: Hi, Waddle Dee! Are you ready?!? Waddle Dee never speeds up or turns any of his blobs while they are falling and appears to place them at random.
Enemy: Umm, can we just walk together? The forest scares me...
Kaguya: The forest scares you?!
Mokou: C'mon, nothing's gonna bite! It's just trees.
Kirby: Sorry, rules are rules!
Lesson 2 Bronto Burt File:KAvBrontoBurt.png BRON Enemy: Ah HA!! I have found my next victim!! -
Kaguya: Oh, no, you're not gonna beat us!
Kirby: Bronto Burt you bully, the pleasure will be all mine.
Mokou: You heard him!
Enemy: Shut up and play!
Lesson 3 Waddle Doo File:KAvWaddleDoo.png WADO Enemy: You did not treat Waddle Dee with respect... Now I, Waddle Doo will repay you in kind! -
Mokou: It wasn't his fault! Waddle Dee was scared of the freaking forest!
Kirby: I don't think so!!
Kaguya: I can't wait to see what picture he draws...
Stage 1 Poppy Bros. Sr. File:KAvPoppyBrosSr.png PBSR Enemy: Hi, Kirby! Want a bomb sandwich? Like Waddle Dee, Poppy Bros. Sr. does not turn his blobs.
Kirby: I'll breathe in your pathetic bombs and send them right back at you!
Kaguya: So that's how it goes, then.
Enemy: Stalemate... Okay, let's compete in a quick game of Avalanche!
Mokou: Bring it ON!
Stage 2 Whispy Woods File:KAvWhispyWoods.png WHIS Enemy: Please don't tread on my roots, it would not be a wise decision. Whispy always opens the battle by attempting to build four rows of blob at the bottom.
Kirby: I feel like some apple pie!
Mokou: You feel like an apple pie?
Kaguya: Sounds delicious.
Stage 3 Kabu File:KAvKabu.png KABU Kirby: Who blocked the path with this boulder? -
Enemy: Your road to glory ends here
Kaguya: Darn it! Who the heck would end us? Me and Mokou are immortal, for crikes' sake!
Mokou: Oh!
Kirby: OH!! Hi Kabu, are you ready for a game of Avalanche?
Stage 4 Broom Hatter File:KAvBroomHatter.png BRMH Enemy: Oh what a mess! Must I clean up this entire forest? Broom Hatter is the first opponent in Hard mode and fills the leftmost and rightmost column to the top at the beginning of the fight.
Kirby: I'd worry more about cleaning up your Avalanche skills first.
Mokou: Good one, Kirby.
Kaguya: Come on, let's start!
Enemy: Dust, dust, sweep... Huh?!??
Stage 5 Squishy File:KAvSquishy.png SQUI Enemy: I know what your dream is! But King Dedede was saying- -
Kaguya: I don't care!
Kirby: Go meddle in someone else's affairs, Squishy, I've got to get to the Dream Fountain.
Mokou: Seriously, we've gotta win the tournament!
Enemy: An eight-armed Avalanche for you then, Kirby, Kaguya, and Mokou!
Stage 6 Lololo & Lalala File:KAvLololoLalala.png LOLA Enemy: To get this far you must have a-MAZE-ing skill! Tee hee hee!! -
Mokou: Very punny.
Kirby: Oh yeah? Try and figure your way out of this!
Kaguya: Go for it, Kirby!
Stage 7 Bugzzy File:KAvBugzzy.png BUGZ Enemy: ROOAAAAAAARRR!!!!! -
Kaguya: That's...pretty lame.
Kirby: Oh, I'm soooo scared
Mokou: Right you are.
Stage 8 Paint Roller File:KAvPaintRoller.png PAIN Enemy: Let me paint you a lovely portrait... -
Mokou: Nice, it's actually someone who can draw!
Kirby: Oh, how sweet of you
Enemy: ...of you losing to me, HA HA HA!
Kirby: Paint Roller, you are the meanest art student I've ever met.
Kaguya: That wasn't what I was expecting, Paint Roller. Where do you go? COMMUNITY COLLEGE?!
Enemy: Student? HA! I am the MASTER!! And who goes to community college, anyway?
Stage 9 Heavy Mole File:KAvHeavyMole.png HVYM Enemy: I am Heavy Mole, watch while I undermine your precious dream!! Heavy Mole is the first opponent fought at the Dream Fountain and focuses primarily on rapidly destroying blobs rather than forming big chain reactions.
Kaguya: Oho! You can't undermine us!
Mokou: Nobody undermines the eternal Mokou!
Kirby: You are sneaky, but I will not be distracted by your under-handed tactics.
Stage 10 Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright File:KAvMrShineMrBright.png MS&B Enemy: We rule both the night and the day! -
Mokou: Hey Mr. Shine, your power helps me work and saaaave!
Enemy: This leaves no time for you, Kirby, Kaguya, and Mokou! Be gone!!
Kaguya: We aren't freaking leaving!!
Kirby: I thrive at dusk and at dawn! I'll have you two fighting before the day is done.
Stage 11 Kracko File:KAvKracko.png KRAC Enemy: KRRR-RACKK!!!! Dance to my deadly music, or fry like a moth! HA HA!! -
Kaguya: Dance, dance, dance!
Kirby: You couldn't hit a barn sized lightning rod, Kracko!
Mokou: Is this going on America's Funniest Home Videos?
Stage 12 Meta Knight File:KAvMetaKnight.png META Enemy: None shall pass! En garde, Kirby, Kaguya, and Mokou! Meta Knight is more skilled than other opponents at making a comeback when most of his playing field has been covered in rocks.
Mokou: Atteindre la lune.
Kirby: But I have no sword!?!
Kaguya: You speak fluent French, y'know.
Enemy: Oh, you're so right... Then Avalanche it is, ha ha ha ha!!!
Final Stage King Dedede File:KAvKingDedede.png DEDE Enemy: Kirby!! Your dream has carried you far but here it ends. When Dedede's blobs land, his half of the screen shakes slightly. This has no effect on gameplay, however.
Kaguya: Oho, that's a lie.
Enemy: The Dream Fountain Cup will be mine!!
Kirby: Welcome King Dedede. And good luck to you too.
Mokou: Do it, Kirby!!

Trivia

  • Kaguya narrates the ending.
  • The title translates to "Eternal Night Vignette Avalanche".
  • The dialogue contains various Western pop cultural references, like JC Penney, SolarCity, and America's Funniest Home Videos.
