Sure, this may be the cutest bonk to ever bonk a bonk...but this is no plaything! It has rapid, continuous attacks with enough power to hammer stakes and crush enemies.
— Figure description segment from Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Toy Hammer is an Evolved Copy Ability based on Hammer that appears in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. In this form, Kirby wields a hammer based on a popular Japanese children's toy. It is somewhat less powerful than the standard Hammer, but much faster, with extra hits for its combo attack. The ability's appearance is similar to the Toy Hammer headgear in Kirby Battle Royale, only with a light-blue bicycle helmet instead of a color-swapped headband, and a slightly more vibrant hammer.

The blueprint for Toy Hammer appears in the stage Welcome to Wondaria, and can be found by watering the withered flowers using Water-Balloon Mouth. Toy Hammer is required to play the Treasure Road stage Smack to the Top! Hit the Nails.

Toy Hammer moveset
Move Button execution Description
Toy Hammer B Kirby slams his hammer in front of him.
Quintuple Hammer B + B + B + B after Toy Hammer Kirby slams his hammer four more times, with the finishing slam enlarging his hammer and flattening enemies it defeats.
Giant Swing B in midair Kirby does a front flip with his hammer out to harm enemies ahead.
Hammer Jump Hold B after Giant Swing Kirby slams his hammer towards the ground and bounces off it, boosting him into the air for a brief second.
Hammer Flip Hold B, then release Kirby charges his hammer and swings it horizontally in front of him. Has three charges, with the third charge setting his hammer on fire. Like in Kirby Star Allies, charging this move for too long will cause the hammer's head to break. Unlike other versions of Hammer Flip, this version is a single strong hit rather than multiple hits that stack.
Counter Flip B after dodging an attack Kirby instantly uses the second charge of Hammer Flip. Holding the button allows Kirby to charge the move to the third charge.

Trivia

  • Toy Hammer is the only Evolved Copy Ability in the Korean version which uses a native Korean name, rather than a transliterated version of a foreign name.
  • As of present, Toy Hammer is the preferred ability to use in speedruns of the Colosseum due to its speed and damage potential when fully powered-up. Additionally, because its version of Hammer Flip is a single hit rather than multi-hit, it can skip the immunity phase that most bosses have when transitioning between phases, potentially defeating the boss while skipping later phases entirely.
