"Top Ride: Sand" (capitalized as "Top Ride: SAND" in the Sound Test) is a theme that plays in the Sand Top Ride course in Kirby Air Ride.

Composition[edit]

A race over the sand.

"Top Ride: Sand" is a Middle Eastern-styled piece in double harmonic C-sharp minor with characteristic instrumentation. It begins with an intro made up of a descending and rising passage which sets the tone of the piece, and a percussive solo. The melody is quite simply a double harmonic minor scale whith ornaments at the more exotic harmonies, followed by a descent with mordents at every note. The melody returns up and stays there for the next section. This second part has a more peculiar and pronounced rhythmical structure. The percussion then halts as an extended variation of the melody repeats, first in a solo and then a tutti. The final section has a lesser melodic range but more unique syncopations. A dominant chord comes in suddenly, and the track then loops.
