— Meta Knight, in Air-Ride-in-Style - Part II

Top is a copy ability exclusive to Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, which allows Kirby to toss razor-sharp tops at his enemies. This ability has only made one appearance, in the episode Air-Ride-in-Style - Part II as the result of a Copy Ability design contest held in Japan (being submitted by Masanobu Maeda from Nara prefecture) though it is only used in a dream sequence, making its canonicity questionable. Kirby gains this ability after inhaling an exploding top from one of the Air Riders.

Appearance

When Kirby gains the Top ability, he gains a top to use as a weapon. The top is white on the bottom, and the surface is bordered by golden yellow. The inside of the surface is green, with a neon yellow star in the center. The top also has a string attached to it, allowing Kirby to spin it to high speeds before releasing. Top Kirby also sports a cap worn backward. The back of the hat is golden yellow, and the front is white with a drawing of a top on it. The drawing of the top is nearly identical to the top Kirby uses, but the string is missing and the bottom of the top is red.

Effect

Top Kirby can throw exploding tops at his enemies to damage them. While spinning, the tip of the top can cut through solid metal, as Kirby takes advantage of this and uses the top to cut an enemy Air Rider's Shadow Star into pieces in Air-Ride-in-Style - Part II.
