The True Arena is an Extra Game mode that has featured in every main series Kirby title since Kirby Super Star Ultra introduced it. It is similar to The Arena, but - like the name suggests - it is a more challenging version, featuring more/tougher Bosses to be fought in sequence, and less recovery items and copy abilities available along the way. The True Arena is intended to serve as the final and toughest challenge in the games it appears in, and always features at least one Boss that does not appear elsewhere in the host game.

Completing The True Arena is a requirement for 100% Completion of the games it appears in. It is hidden from the menu at first, but then typically appears at some point after The Arena is cleared, with doing so being one of multiple unlocking criteria.

Game Appearances

The True Arena is the final game-mode in Kirby Super Star Ultra. It is similar to The Arena, requiring Kirby to defeat a total of ten bosses previously encountered in the game. However, he only receives five tomatoes and no Maxim Tomatoes. Also, while the first six bosses are in a random order (like The Arena), the last four are fought in a set order (like Helper to Hero). Kirby fights all the bosses that did not appear in the original Kirby Super Star here. This mode is unlocked when all other modes of the game are completed, including the Arena.

Bosses

Kirby encounters the following bosses in this stage:

First Six (random order)
Final Four

It should be noted that all the bosses, minus Kabula and the mid-bosses, are stronger forms of bosses from the original game. Also, the final four are stronger forms of the final bosses of Spring Breeze, The Great Cave Offensive, Revenge of Meta Knight, and Milky Way Wishes.

The True Arena in Kirby's Return to Dream Land differs a bit from Kirby Super Star Ultra. It is again similar to The Arena, requiring Kirby to defeat a total of fifteen bosses previously encountered in the Extra Mode of the game. However, he receives only three Maxim Tomatoes, being replaced with smaller tomatoes after use. Also, while the first ten bosses are in a random order (like The Arena), the last five are fought in a set order. This stage is unlocked when Extra Mode is completed.

This True Arena also allows multiple players to join in the fight, and allows the unknown reader to play as a character other than Kirby.

Bosses

Kirby encounters the following bosses:

First Ten (random order)
Final Five

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

The True Arena is unlocked after successfully completing the Arena and DededeTour!.

Bosses

First Seven (random order)
Nightmare four (set order)

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Unlike in previous installments, all the bosses and mid-bosses are fought in a set order. Additionally, amiibo can be used to provide an ability and some recovery items if needed.

The following bosses are fought in The True Arena:
