The Long-Lost Ruins is the third stage of the level Yellow Dunes in [[Kirby and the Rainbow Curse|Template:KatRC KatRP]]. In this stage, Kirby traverses a large ruined building in the dead of night, which is filled with lasers, crumbling walls, and Bzztbulbs, among other things. Along the way, he will have to contend with Mecha Cotta.

Completing the stage unlocks Hooplagoon, Relic of the Ruins.

Overview

Kirby begins this stage out in the desert at night, at the foot of a giant sandstone ruin. Some Bzztbulbs guard the entrance, but they should be no issue if Kirby attacks at the right time.

Once inside the ruins, Kirby will encounter a laser blocking his path, but this can be dealt with by blocking it with a rainbow rope. The path continues down deep into the structure, through halls filled with more lasers and Blados on patrol, along with other minor enemies. The first Treasure Chest can be found along this area, and is easy to spot.

After passing through a door, Kirby finds himself in a wider and more vertical space which he will need to climb up carefully. Near the top, he will be rewarded with the opportunity to heal up and collect a bunch of Point Stars.

The next hallway features walls that fall in when passed, crushing an unfortunate Cotta as a demonstration. Unlike with the Cotta, however, these walls will not instantly KO Kirby if they land on him, instead just doing a point of damage like other hazards. As Kirby progresses further, he'll find six bottles of milk which he can collect if he is fast enough to outrun the wall behind them. Above that, a locked gate guards the way forward. A key appears as if sent specifically to aid Kirby, but it then reveals itself to be a trick, turning into a Grinkey and fluttering away. Kirby will have to chase it down and defeat the Grinkey to return it to its former state and unlock the gate. The door forward can then be found past another set of patrolling Blados.

The next area starts with a demonstration of how light panels work, as Kirby must light all three to open the way forward. From there, it's a long vertical descent past lasers and soft sand. Once at the bottom, the second treasure chest comes in sight. From there, it's an ascent into a wide open space, where the door to the challenge room can be found on the left, and the way forward on the right.

Kirby finds himself in an enclosed space, where he must battle with Mecha Cotta. As this fight progresses, more Cottas appear at regular intervals. Once Mecha Cotta is defeated, the door forward appears, along with some helpful items.

In the following area, Kirby will need to make his way forward past the numerous lasers (though there is something hidden to the left). From there, Kirby must pass through another set of halls with falling walls before finally exiting the ruins. He can make his way to the roulette wheel from here, but there is something else hidden in this area.

Treasure 1: Blado Figurine
Shortly into the ruins, Kirby will stumble across a Cotta and Cotta Knight guarding a treasure chest behind a metal block barrier. Kirby will need to use a Star Dash to get in there.

Treasure 2: Grinkey Figurine
This treasure chest comes into view on the main path further into the ruins, nestled behind a shutter that will only open when four light panels have been activated. Two of these panels are guarded by lasers.

Treasure 3: Boss Theme Track
A door to a challenge room can be found high up behind some soft clay in an alcove in the open space just prior to the Mecha Cotta fight. In this challenge room, Kirby has 15 seconds to light up a bunch of wall panels to make the chest appear and then collect it.

Treasure 4: Mecha Cotta Figurine
This treasure chest is located inside a hidden room accessible to the left in the hall just after the Mecha Cotta fight. Kirby will need to use a Star Dash to break through the metal blocks guarding the chest.

Treasure 5: Reflected Laughter Track
This last chest can be found in a secret area above the very last room in the stage containing the Goal Game. To reach it, Kirby needs to Star Dash upward, then aim for the chest.
