AbbreviationsEdit
Could we perhaps refer to those games by their full names (i.e. Kirby's Dreamland, Kirby's Adventure, etc.). I think those abbreviations make the wiki look unprofessional. I would agree if the skipped part was interchangable, but there are also some exceptions like "Kirby 64". - Edofenrir 13:46, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Think we should put "Kirby's" in small fonts to lead them? We drop off "The Legend of Zelda:" from the title of all of the game names at ZW to cut down on clutter. But if you insist on it, we can accommodate. Axiomist 14:59, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- I assumed that it was related to The Legend of Zelda. But I don't think the system should be adopted 1:1 here, since the "Kirby" part seems to be a part of the name to me, which shouldn't be ripped off (Unlike with Zelda games, where the part behind the colon is a complete name in itself). Epic Yarn and Kirby WiiEdit
Isn't it confirmed that Kirby's Epic Yarn is Kirby Wii? The reason why the style of the game was changed because lack of ideas or something? If you search Kirby Wii on Wikipedia, it redirects to Epic Yarn. --Stupid Name Guy, Remino52 20:09, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
"Main" seriesEdit
I don't really like the attempt to divide the Kirby series into a "main" series and spin-offs here. Unless such a division has officially been used by HAL or Nintendo (and since there's been debate about whether or not Kirby Mass Attack would be part of such a series, I don't think that's the case), I believe this is a subjective matter and most of the games can be considered stand-alones (even the "Dream Land" ones are ambiguous as a sub-series due to regional naming differences). If we still want to separate games like Kirby's Block Ball from Kirby's Dream Land, a clearer and less ambiguous approach may be to divide them into platformers and other games.--Vellidragon (talk) 20:34, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, the 'Main Series' are whatever games fit into the proper Kirby storyline, and are in continuity with each-other. Games that fall outside this continuity are either games with no definitive story (like Block Ball or Air Ride), or 'what-if' scenarios (such as Team Kirby Clash Deluxe). Deciding what games are canon and what aren't is a tricky situation, however, and without proper confirmation from HAL themselves, we can't know for sure. Gut feeling isn't much of a reliable source... for instance, why is Kirby's Epic Yarn (which explores very different themes) more "main" than Kirby's Dream Course (with a classic Kirby storyline)? - Hm, I think I've noticed something on the 25th anniversary site. http://www.kirby.jp/25th/ If you look at the bottom, you can see a line-up of games in the series.
