I support moving this subject to Combo Cannon as it is the most common, recent, and intended name. To recap:

  • Kirby Super Star calls it Combo Cannon in The Arena.
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl calls it Combo Cannon in both its own trophy and the Halberd trophy.
  • Kirby Super Star Ultra calls it Main Cannon #2.
  • Kirby's Epic Yarn leaves it unnamed.
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS calls it Combo Cannon in its own trophy.
  • Kirby: Planet Robobot calls it Combo Cannon in Halberd Mode.

Main Cannon #2 was only used once, so it is a totally one-off occasion and not the ideal title. It also appears to be a translation error (much like Mekkai, but I digress) - the number "2" is present in Japanese (2連主砲), but to break that down, 「2連」 means double or twin and 「主砲」 means main or big gun; effectively Combo Cannon. This is also present since day one, as The Arena had clearly written it as "Combo Cannon" in the Japanese version of Kirby Super Star (and, as an aside, the 3DS games mentioned above contains both languages in the game carts). The likeliest reason this changed in the first place is because Kirby Super Star Ultra instead renders the boss names as Japanese characters rather than English letters, and the translator just didn't reference the original name. Basically, Main Cannon #2 is on the same level as "Gravity Disruptor" from the anime. That, and changing "Main Cannon 2" means removing the obvious number sign technical restrictions disclaimer. It does seem clear enough to me that more modern games do indeed refer to it as the Combo Cannon once more. I'll go ahead and move the page to that name once again, and leave a note saying it is called Main Cannon #2 in SSU. --Fubaka (talk) 16:05, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
