Superspicy Curry, formerly known as Spicy Food[1], is an item that appears in Kirby's Dream Land. When collected, it allows Kirby to spew a continuous stream of fire from his mouth as he runs, damaging enemies in the process. In effect, it is similar to the Fire or Burning Copy Abilities that would appear later in the series. As such, it has not made any notable reappearances in the main series since its debut. It has since been renamed to Superspicy Curry in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land

Spicy Food first appears in Kirby's Dream Land. It appears in various locations, starting in Castle Lololo. It is useful for clearing out large areas of enemies quickly.

Kirby's Pinball Land

Superspicy Curry makes an appearance in the bonus game in Kracko Land. Here, it does not convey any special effects, though it is worth 2000 points when Kirby eats it.

Super Smash Bros. series

Starting with Brawl, and appearing again in for Wii U/3DS and Ultimate, Superspicy Curry is one of the items that can appear. Collecting it causes the fighter to continuously spew fireballs from their mouths, allowing them to chain the fire with their normal attacks. While spewing fire, the fighter is unable to move slowly, and adopts a humorous painful animation when not moving.

The eater of the curry will soon be unable to handle the heat, however, and end up frantically dashing about the screen. This is a pretty funny sight that never gets old, especially when it's Samus or Snake. Eat this mouth-scorching dish if you dare.

GB Kirby's Dream Land (8/1992) Hope you're a fan of spicy food, because this curry will set your mouth on fire! I'm not kidding—whoever eats this will actually shoot balls of fire from his or her mouth, hurting those who gets too close. Water doesn't help with spiciness, so this works underwater too! Too bad there's no milk weapon... You think you know spicy curries? Think again! One taste of this one and your mouth will literally be on fire. Not even diving into water will help! Your opponents might laugh, but they'll soon stop when you start breathing fire in their direction, now won't they?

Kirby: Right Back at Ya!

Superspicy Curry appears in the episode A Spice Odyssey. Here, it was created by the infamous Chef Kawasaki while engaged in a spice war with a rival restaurant run by the monster Monsieur Goan. The curry in question is the pinnacle of spiciness, being the only dish spicy enough to overwhelm Kirby, and allowing him to defeat the monster running the other restaurant, albeit painfully.
