Star Slam Heroes is a Sub-Game in Kirby Star Allies. It involves four Kirbys aiming to hit a crashing asteroid back as hard as they possibly can using a baseball bat.

The game takes place in a splitscreen set-up, with one Kirby occupying each screen. Kirbys who are not controlled by human players will instead be controlled by the CPU. Once the game starts, contestants have five seconds to build up power by stopping the meter a certain number of times depending on difficulty. Once the five seconds are up, the asteroid approaches, and contestants have to try to match the circle icons on screen to hit it away. If they miss, they get hit by the asteroid and lose the game.

There are three difficulty levels to Star Slam Heroes; called Town Crisis, Country Crisis, and World Crisis. The primary difference between these modes is the number of times Kirby will need to charge his bat (1, 3, and 5) and the speed at which the meter goes. The second and third difficulties cannot be played until the first one is cleared. To complete this sub-game, all three levels need to be tried at least once.

Based on how well each stage was timed, the asteroid will fly out a certain distance measured in light years, crashing through obstacles on the way. The winner is whoever hits their asteroid the furthest.

Trivia

  • The music used in this game is a variant of the Nebula Belt (theme) from Kirby Air Ride.
  • Technically speaking, the speed at which the meteors can travel after they are hit is impossible, as nothing can travel faster than light.
  • If Kirby manages to get a practically perfect hit, his asteroid will slam into a U.F.O. at the end of the line.
  • If Kirby misses the asteroid, his pose at the scoring screen will be him knocked down with a band-aid on his cheek.
